But you see, each of the Turtles takes the Artist they were named after, and references one of that Artist's most famous works, making fun of that work in the process. Has anyone else realised that barely any disses are actually thrown in this battle? Artists: Turtles are gross. Turtles live in sewer. Turtles are “uncultured”. TMNT NES game is impossibly hard. TMNT: Leonardo’s (Artist) failed Helicopter device. Donatello (Artist) being not well known compared to the other artists. Artists draw Penises a lot. That’s it. Aside from those disses, most of this battle is just filler lines. I’m honestly surprised given these characters have such a rich history. Still, this battle is fun to groove to.

This is one of the most unbalanced ERBs ever made, because it feels like the people who wrote it did next to no research on the Ninja Turtles at all. Like, they've traveled to space, fought and defeated alien invasions, traveled to other dimensions to fight in marital arts tournaments, and a whole lot more. And that's all from just one of the television series. It feels like the writers for this one had some surface level knowledge about them at most.
The Turtles NeS game really is hard to beat. I usually bring out my old Nintendo-8bit to try and beat it on a regular yearly basis. That one and Ghost's & Ghoblins.
Love the reaction as always. If I had to recommend to you some ERB battles I would say the western vs eastern philosophers or Mother Teresa vs Sigmund Freud one

It ought be nigh impossible to beat the artists of the Renaissance...those guys aren't what one thinks of as an "artist" today...geniuses not just of sculpture, pen & paint, but of architecture, mathematics, poetry & in polymath Leonardo's case; anatomy, botany, cartography, paleontology(!) , engineering, hydrodynamics, optics, geology, & tribology (friction, lubricants, etc). All 4 of them giants, with Leonardo among the greatest human minds of all time, quite likely #1 period. I like the turtles, they are cool & all, but they did it right, this is no contest/no chance
While I enoyed this (Rhett & Link are awesome) I can't help but feel like the one who wrote the TMNT part wasn't really a fan... either you watched any of the cartoons, movies or read the comics you know how they stopped interdimensional terrors like Kraang and his Technodrome or Saanti Romero or the Triceratons or won pandimensional fighting turnaments, but there... it's just... maybe the writer watched the opening of the cartoon from the '80s... once?
I think it's the opposite. I think the ERB guys are definitely TMNT fans, and suspected their audience would be too, while said audience wouldn't care too much about the Artists initially. So I think they felt they needed to compensate for the possible inherent bias in favour of the Turtles, by giving the Artists the better bars.
