    You got the Shaq trade card?? Wow! If only it was 1992! 😲

      Yeah it would be nice to go back in time almost 30 years to redeem this! Although, I might grade this if PSA ever offers a cheap grading option again. Last PSA 9 of an unredeemed trade card sold for almost $200!

    Does anybody know why the Shaq “OR5”, is not worth that much money? Even though it was only given away in the Orlando area McDonald’s market.

    • @BigJBasketball
      @BigJBasketball  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Many times oddball cards like that which are not true, pack-pulled rookies don’t sell for a ton compared to the pack-pulled versions. There are exceptions for extremely rare versions, but these still seem readily available

      @@BigJBasketball Thank you for your reply. But I’m kind of old now.
      What does “Pack-Pulled” mean?

    • @BigJBasketball
      @BigJBasketball  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MikeCee7pack pulled just means the card came out of a pack that was in general circulation in the market. Pack-pulled cards typically sell for more than cards that are more niche - like ones that were redemptions or from smaller sets that were not distributed nationally.

      @@BigJBasketball Thanks, I thought the famous Honus Wagner card was so valuable, because it was printed buy a tobacco company. And Honus was against smoking, and it was a very limited amount of cards printed.
      (That wasn’t pack-pulled)
      The 1992/1993 McDonald’s Upper Deck cards, were packed-pulled from across the country.
      I’m just surprised by the law of supply & demand. There was not a big supply of these Shaq “OR5” Rookie card. I figured, that would make them worth more. (but I guess not, so I’m confused)

    • @BigJBasketball
      @BigJBasketball  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MikeCee7the supply and demand issue is that there’s just no demand for the OR5 Shaq rookie, and it doesn’t seem to be in that short of supply either. I just looked on eBay and there are plenty of them just sitting there for cheap prices. The Honus Wagner is one of the most famous and valuable sports cards of all time, so the general rules for most other cards aren’t going to apply to a card like that. And this hobby is not always logical, and many times people don’t understand why their cards aren’t as valuable as they think they should be. I think everyone does this. I definitely have some cards that aren’t worth as much as I think they should be, but I can’t do anything about it. Sometimes it is what it is.

    Thanks for another retro box rip. I've been watching the prices of some of these 90s Upper Deck boxes. 92-93 has remained really expensive. The Shaq in a PSA 10 is still selling for way more than I expected. So I can see why the high series boxes are selling for so much.

    • @BigJBasketball
      @BigJBasketball  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the series 2 boxes are especially expensive because of the Shaq RC. However, the chances of pulling a PSA 10 copy from a pack now are so minuscule. PSA 9 prices are around $100 and PSA 10 prices are over $2,000 because the population for a 10 is so much smaller than a 9.

    • @BigJBasketball
      @BigJBasketball  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I throw some of them into a box, others I just donate, since most of them are not worth anything if they are not in good enough condition to be graded. I have a big stack of Magic and Bird cards that I’ve been saving. Maybe one day I’ll put those up on eBay in a big lot

    • @BigJBasketball
      @BigJBasketball  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha yeah that’s a god point. When I open new stuff I always set aside the rookies, so I guess it’s a force of habit to do the same thing while opening old stuff too
