I'm not upset because i knew it was coming and i don't hate the finale at all.
The way it should be. Is not means that brio dead. This relationship is so complicated. Sound crazy but she's shooted him because she's love him and hate him at the same time. Beth and Rio lives different worlds. For Rio his "gift" was normal and big gestures, but for Beth it's crazy. Rio wanted make Beth is the real Queen. But he's really was hard so much to her, she's not ready for all this. Beth fight between good and dark into yourself. Rio lives on dark. This relationship remind Hannibal&Will hetero version. But Rio not much mad like Hannibal and it's good. Rio follows the criminal rules. Beth have yourself methods and rules. And their visions disagree. Rio is right Turner is dangerous and he's not leave Beth at rest. But Beth think differrently. I'm sure Brio risen in next season. Don't forgot it is criminal world, nothing terrified what she was shooting him. I mean this things like "You shoot me, I shoot you" is normal. I think Brio in the end join together against Turner. And we get brio moment's.
This story not tipical romance line, this not vanilla. This is hardcore. And you should always be ready for this. But that's why i love brio so much. Not upset. Still will.

Rio is a ONE OF A KIND CHARACTER! The bad boy all women are attracted to. Yes... our main character is a gangster! For a change, he is not a policeman, or a doctor, or any kind of do-gooder. And we go to him because we want to. RIGHT BETH!

I read on another thread that they think rio and Beth planned this scene with turner to make it look like they aren’t working together. Yet turner and rio are working together. He said “just like we practiced” so possibly it was planned for her to shoot him to hurt him not kill him. She knows he’s not dead and just gone away for a bit. That’s why he left her all his stuff. Until he comes back she will wash the cash.

Rio is not dead! This was His plan from the start he clued Elizabeth in the ride in the car he told her she had to shoot in order for it to work and to get Turner off their backs and leave and that's exactly what happened.Now don't get me wrong Rio will be down for awhile but he will be at his new place or hidout and she will be nursing him back to health. She new he had a son she's not heartless quite the opposite she loves that man.

Plot twist, this is all wishful thinking but what if Turner is Rio’s partner or boss. Rio obviously has an inside man, he always knows when there is going to be a raid/investigation when to lay low flip his game etc. so Turner has been harassing the ladies all along not because he was investigating them but because he needed to test them. He was testing their loyalty to each other and testing to see how deep they are willing to go. There were numerous times he could have arrested the women and he always held off for more. Rio would always warn them or correct the way they were handling business. Skip to this season finale the last conversation between Beth and Turner. She has the keys to the kingdom he tells her he is going on vacation she says then what he answered then we will see how you do. Or something along those lines. They may be handing a branch of the business over to Beth. The shooting scene may be like a gang initiation. They have her on camera shooting a man three times in the chest. Is it real? We don’t know it could have all been an act between Turner and Rio to have blackmail on Beth to keep her in line no matter who she chose to shoot it would be on camera for them to use against her. They even kind of have some foreshadowing from earlier in the season when Beth says that killing Boomer is their initiation.
I was thinking the same thing.Did you notice right before Beth shot Rio,he referred to the F.B.I Detective as 'Boss', and I said he knows this person. And the way Rio was talking to him,was like 'I finally got your ass' ...it seemed personal,I picked-up on that.Rio was trying to take-out the 'King' , the 'King' is the detective.Rio is definately alive I believe,and it's going to be really tough for Beth,because she's not being realistic about who she is,and what she does,and what comes with that.She pulled that trigger, and Rio knows that Beth has turned savage.

I just started the show maybe a week ago and I’m on episode four and I’m already seeing something between them. Which me look further to see if Beth would deal with her feelings for him. Seeing her shoot him here and the shock on both their faces made me see she’s into him. And I don’t know if I’m jumping at nothing here but he realized that too, which is why he was laughing at the “problem” guy.

I read your comment about the finale and agree with most of the things you said. But I do think the finale scene between them was our of character. Rio kidnapping Beth made no sense for me and him calling her bi*ch again in that scene and Beth shooting Rio 3 times and then just moving on and even be glad he’s finally gone now? The made them look like two psychopaths in the finale and I don’t really like that. Yes, they have always had a toxic relationship but I think the finale scene was just too much. I still ship them but I saw many people already gave up on them after the finale.
And the most concerning thing for me is that the writers of the show said in a new interview that Brio is pretty much done when they were asked about their relationship after season 2. They said Beth realized Rio was just using her the entire time and that their relationship has has run the gamut.
However, I don’t trust the writers anymore. They were never a huge fan of this ship in the first place and now after what they did in the finale and after what they said about their relationship, I kinda lost hope for Brio to ever have such scenes again (as in 2x04, 2x05 or 2x09)

After that god awful finale, I am done. If the show runner knew how much fans loved Brio, why kill them because it's what SHE wants? It's one thing to shock your fans, but don't piss them off. Brio and Rio himself are half the reason the audience sticks around. Why drive your viewers away like that?

Just like some complain about romanticizing them, this seemed one sided. The criminal world is toxic, Beth did alot of shady things that could've gotten her killed and he never did. In Season 3 he still killed someone else instead of her and I think that was the rule, if you're late someone has to die and instead of being Beth and her crew, he killed Lucy for her, he offered the FBI agent for her, big violent gestures are shows of loyalty and love to him for this world.
