Both of these songs are from Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album released in 2018 when Ale was 13, Pau was 16, and Dany was 18. The album tells the story of a young woman’s descent into obsession, murder, and madness. Dust to Dust, the opening track and prologue, introduces themes of life, death, and deception, setting the emotional tone for the album. The song features a Spanish spoken interlude performed by their manager Rudy, usually played on a backing track; however, in the Pepsi Center video, the backing track is mixed much quieter, with crowd microphones turned up so you can hear the audience performing the spoken part. For this performance, the band also added an extended outro that isn’t on the studio recording. Dull Knives (Cut Better), the 9th track from Chapter 3, shows the protagonist’s growing despair and internal struggle, where her evil side is beginning to win. Behind the scenes, the band revealed they tried to extend Dull Knives, but ultimately decided to keep it short, recommending listeners replay it if they feel it’s too brief.
Dust to Dust, the opening song for a ‘rock opera’ a concept album Queen of the Murder Scene, they composed when they were barely in their teens. Ale gets major credit in creating Dust to Dust when she was about 11 or 12 years old. They played the entire album in the proper order at the Lunario CDMX 2018. During the original breakdown, their manager Rudy Joffroy joins them on stage as a preacher delivering a sermon in Spanish. He had difficulty keeping time with the band, so a prerecorded sermon was later used. At the Pepsi Center you can barely hear the sermon during the breakdown as 8,000 fans are reciting the sermon themselves! If you want to see the original performance, check out the Lunario or the one at the Whiskey A Go Go.
This crowd was absolutely mental!!! They were drowning out the PA system at time if you watch fan cams of this show. And just think... They're working on their February shows to make those even bigger!!
These two songs are a great representation of what the Warning are all about ,and all are super stars ! For us fans who watched the Lunario concert when it first came out , who would have thought that these two songs would have sounded this good as a duo !
When Pau started playing drums at age 6 her instructor told her to sing along as a way to stay focused and to improve her timing. When they started touring she also started singing while working on a treadmill to improve her breath control. She needed all that background because this concert at Mexico City was at an elevation over 7000' and she was sick with the flu.
Queens of the Rocker Scene TW....🤟😎🖤⚡♨️🇲🇽 They are everything is good in the Rock music, They are as if the soul and spirit of the greatest rock bands claim their place at the same time.
They took 2 great songs, added an outro to the first and a transition, our pleasure is doubled! When they wrote Dull Knives they also thought it was too short, but every time tried to lengthen it the song wasn’t as good. So they told everyone to listen to it twice if it was too short for them!! This was such a clever way to lengthen without weakening, brilliant in my book, the 2 songs put together became greater than the 2 songs done separately IMO!!!👏😊🎶⚡️
Pau sings and drums at the same time since she plays drums. Her first teacher encouraged her to stay focus. She said in an ITW she not even pay attention of that on stage
Dust to Dust is really a funeral dirge, complete with a sermon and a death wail at the end from Dani. With the crowd going insane here, it comes away as a hard rock anthem. I hope at some point you can watch the Lunario 2018 concert and see them debut the whole *Queen of the Murder Scene* album. They were 18, 16, and 13 at that point. The concert is dark, raw, a little rough at points, and emotional as hell. Have the album lyrics up and pre-read as you watch the concert. It gave me the perspective I needed to see their genius.
Dust dust is all atmosphere and dull knives is all energy. You wouldn’t think that they would go together as well as as they do but peas and carrots, baby peas, and carrots.
I only found out about them back in May and definitely feel like it's a life-long regret to not have been following them years ago. This is exactly the kind of energy and fun I was craving in Rock for so long. These shows in Mexico (Teatro Metro 2022, Pepsi Center, and Auditoro Nacional Feb 2025) really are something else. Feels like the whole rest of the year is practice and fundraising for these monster shows. And they put them up on TH-cam for us who weren't there. Crazy. I got to my first 2 shows last month (once in my hometown as an opening act and then flew across the country for the headlining show in Toronto) and it was everything you'd expect after watching a ton of their stuff on youtube. Their sound guy (Lalo) is incredible at getting everything that loud but that clear (better than the sound of either Halestorm or Evanescence), the other fans are awesome, and the girls really are having that much fun on stage. If they are playing anywhere near you next year it is absolutely worth it. Only band I could say that I don't care what the setlist is, none of their songs are a 'pass' for me.
Queens of Rock. You're doing fabulous, I can see these ladies are blowing your mind just like they did mine. Dust To Dust has aged well, it's one of their classics, and Dull Knives is one of those forgotten bangers when you're dishing out banger after banger and some of those are phenomenal. These ladies told everyone that they are going to make their music their way, and what a ride it's been.
When you finally start reacting to the Lunario CDMX 2018 concert of Queen of the Murder Scene, you will see "Dany Face" taken to another level!!! In character for the whole concert. Dany's sisters were slightly terrified during the making of the album because Dany was so vested in it, she stayed in character for the full week of recording. Pau and Ale and Dany shared a bedroom at that time(Mexican sisters do that) and sleeping was difficult for Pau and Ale.
Yeah, they (including their team) put on a spectacular show. I really wish I could go see them in Mexico City next year, because those shows will no doubt be out of this world. Thanks for the reaction!
Lighting Director/designer is Brian Bogovic. They met him on their first tour with Halestorm. He worked for Halestorms LD & programmed TWs lighting on Halestorms rig during that tour. TW hired him for their Metropolitan Theater shows in 2022. His first headliner LD gig (& blew it out of the water!). Pepsi Center 2023 & (I’m sure) Auditoro Nacional 2025 just keep up the next-level leaps.
Two of the greatest songs back to back ever done!!! Pure talent, pure musicians and life is good. Best Rock band in many decades...and I have heard them ALL in 60+ years of being a rocker...a new era of Rock is upon us...just enjoy the journey my friend..it is what it is. Rock on. Don't be worried about just discovering them...they are very young and all the greatness is yet to come...think about that for a second...🙄🙄
Probably my two favorite songs from them. (At this particular moment). They are among the first ones I had heard. Just a spectacular performance. There are a number of live versions of these songs and every one will blows the lid off the place. These sisters have been a life changing discovery for me, going on three years and I still have to hear them every day.
Ale's coming for your soul, yea i agree their team is top tier great, i def need to see them live, i hear the wall of sound is unmatched, awesome reaction, thanks for sharing, I'm in!
As their fan base expands, I see more people misspelling their names. It's not that hard, folks. Dany, Pau, and Ale -- that's it. Learn it, know it, live it. 🤩🔥⚡
D2D & Dull Knives are 2 staples of their shows, since the released of the Queen Of The Murder Scene album, back in 2018, having played both hundreds of times, understandingly making them stale to play live, plus fans often complain about Dull Knives being to short, so what do they do? They add an outro to D2D, also using it to perfectly transition in to Dull Knives, killing to birds with one stone.
Queen of the Murder Scene gives me Rush level concept album vibes. And can you imagine that show in Japan, half Warning and half Band-Maid? How much talent on one stage can there be?
It is true; evry song they do is a treat. There is not dud in their entire catalogue. Granted, they started really young, so some of their earliest songs are, well, kind of, younger themed, but very good songs nonetheless. The Warning is a phenomenon like no other in the world of performance art. You've got to check out some of their vlogs, to get to know them a little. If you think you like them now, just wait until you get a glimpse of who and how they are as people. They are amazing human beings!
GREAT REACTION! One relies on the other 2. I don't discount a single one of them. Their crew is another subject on it's own. They are so perfect with the sound & lights & management & timing & safety & everything else you can think of. I am so happy they are surrounded by the best people… and it shows! Thank you, for sharing! DPA 4EV'R!
We fans have been complaining that Dull Knives was too short from the very start. The Warning tried when they first wrote the song to make it longer but nothing worked it just didn't sound right. Fast forward six years or so and they come up with the perfect fix, combine it with Dust to Dust, another fan favorite, and now we have a single epic masterpiece that lasts over 7 mins. And to add a cherry to the top they gave Dust to Dust an awesome extended outro that smacks of deliciousness. If you are looking to check out another couple of bands then I suggest Freeze The Fall and their latest song VHS, they are a young starting band of teenagers Quinn 17, Aria 16 and Jonah 16 who have some real talent. Also there is an Indonesian all female band call Voice of Baceprot (Ba-Che-Prot (VOB)) that are worth listening too start with their song God Please Allow Me (to Play Music), and move on from there.
Okay now that you've had your mind blown by two songs from their second album (Queen of the Murder Scene) you can now proceed to watch two songs from their latest album (Keep Me Fed) from this same concert: S!ck & Hell You Call A Dream....
This was the only twofer they released from this show. There really was no way to split these two songs up. That transition was less than one second. Edit: Keep in mind that three very young girls wrote these two songs.
