Allen Ludden lived in my home town of Corpus Christi when he was a young child and young adult, he graduated from C.C. High School in 1934,,,,He married his high school sweetheart, Margeret McGloin. The McGloin family were pioneer family in South Texas, I live very close to where the old settlement is! Allen paid allegiance to his adopted home town so many times through the years. His parents lived her and he and Betty would come visit many times. Just love that man! Well, Betty too. They both were wonderful, it's sad how he got sick at such a young age and Betty lost a dear, dear man!
Betty is so good at this game, I would love to go on the show with her as my partner! I don't think I've ever seen someone as happy as that first woman was when she won. :-)
Who else thinks Ann M. Martin had this in her head when creating her characters? I sure think that. (I also think the "Lacey Pemberton" in Paper Towns was subconsciously inspired by the "Card Sharks" dealer of that name.)
@@kristabrewer9363 I personally think he's just a competitive player who knows how to have fun, which happens a lot with this show and Super Password. Many of the guests enjoy playing very much and get a little bit into the competition, but much of the time they are very enjoyable and funny to watch.
One would think these people know the rules before they actually get on the stage. If the name is on the board it's not going to be part of the answer!
In some cases, repeating a clue can be good strategy. For example, it might make sense to repeat the previous clue if you can't think of another good clue and you don't want to mislead with a bad clue, or if you want to emphasize the previous clue.

Betty White passed away on December 31, 2021 at the age of ninety-nine.
Allen was recovering from stomach cancer surgery when this was taped.
Unfortunately, Allen Ludden never returned to Password...
