Well .... for the crown, the most it is, in cartoons with backlight it does one sd, I wonder if it's busy and forgot to turn off the backlight, then change the crown every 15 minutes? the video is nothing.
Why would you spend all that time and effort to modify a multimeter which is only worth $10? Wouldn't it be easier to just use that time to earn more money and buy a better multimeter?
Why would you want to practice on a more expensive one? I think the concept is, if you can do it on a cheap one for pennies & you have a more expensive one that needs it ,....go ahead & do it. This is how you can do it!👍

You can make the backlight any voltage you choose to . Just make sure the battery you choose to supply it with is close to the LED stip.
