in portuguese we use "saudade" to describe that feeling... in the case of portuguese "saudade" is connected to memory, when u remember someone or some event and u get happy and sad at same time, happy cos u lived, sad cos is gonne. Like when u think about some beloved one that pass away o u don't see for long time and memories put u happy and sad at same time.

I never thought I'd see them live, but they came to my country a couple of weeks before my birthday, this was like seven years ago, maybe more. My best friend came with me, she didn't know anything from them, but we ended up sobbing together at the concert. She passed away three months ago. This is a memory I will cherish forever.

"There's something sacred and holy about what that does on the inside and to share that experience with others is just so beautiful". This totally encapsulates how I feel listening to Sigur Ros and perfectly explains why I am buzzing with excitement to get to see them perform live for the first time this summer. I have looked on the website for the venue and found out that it is sold out and to know that I will be there having this beautiful, powerful, spiritual experience with a packed out venue full of people having their own experiences and all of us having a collective experience just makes me so giddy with joy and excitement

Sigur Ros is the sound that the heart and soul makes....it makes me think about how we are given birth from space, how we drift almost clueless thru space and how we fade back into space, always remaining in unity with it all thru all the stages, a place which is really mysterious, deep and joyous...so alive and familiar! It is incredible how music can act like a portal to reconnect with that.

Sigur Rós touched me so deeply, I just knew this band has the power to touch people on so many levels. Seeing all these people sitting in a chair with their heartfelt memories makes me look back on all those moments the music of Sigur Rós has been with me, up to this day. I think this speaks to the soul of the listener, not just the ear. The lack of traditional verse/lyrics, make more like a dreamscape, than a simple song. So I think it sound different to each listener. But this video clearly shows that there is a common reaction. Tears of joy, sadness, loss, celebration etc. Like me, right now ❣

I met Sigur Rós in my late teens. A friend found it through another friend from IRC, it was in the early 2000s. The song was Untitled 4. That was incredible. I needed more ... I've been following them ever since. All my good and sad moments there was a song. Even On my wedding day too, the music for my walk was Untitled 3. All the moments I need to disconnect from the world, and need reflection, are listening to Sigur Rós. Like exactly now. It's for sure my favorite band.

I got chills listening to this. I can't even imagine knowing what I look like, what my reactions look like, while listening to Sigur Ros. Wow. What an incredible song. The boys are back.

That`s such a beautiful music video. Sending a lot of love from Brazil. I personally listen to Sigur Ros for more than 6 years now. Now I`m a doctor, but I start to listening when I was just trying to get in to medical school. Dreaming about to visit Iceland some day.

I think Sigur Ròs is only band in the world that could get away with having interviews with fans talking about their memories *in* the music video

      Sigur Ròs & BTS.
Believe it or not, they're both committed to music as a therapeutic & healing force, both are deeply connected to their fan bases in a way that, "parasocial," cannot fully describe and both have revolutionized conventional notions of what popular music is & can be.

Chiming in from Vanilla Sky in 2007....Jonsi's voice reminds me that it's okay to feel things that overwhelm us. It's okay to feel scared. It's all part of the journey we are all on, together.

My best friend took her last breath on 24th Feb 2022. She had lived in Iceland for a couple of years and we planned to go together. We ended up going without her, but she was 100% with us. HB - 18/12/90 - 24/03/22

Today I celebrated the joy of a "mentally disabled" (no! not at all!) swimmer who won at Special Olympics and was gifted to share his pride and joy and friendship. Many swimming clubs didn't want to take him because of his "special needs". Now he got medals in Olympia. That's the Sigur Rós message, too. It's not about money or profession or education... it's about being a unique and compassionate soul. Your story might be heartbaking but there's hope. There's always hope.
