Thank you all for your support. We were able to get our pack weight down and I was actually at 29 pounds fully loaded and the knees just were not able to keep up but we do have intentions on going back to section hike more of it and other trails as well. The AT holds a chunk of our ❤️. Always will.
Y’all follow your dreams wherever they may take you the trail provides most of the time start checking work boards when you get to tows work for stay to but I still try to tip it’s hard with a family that’s why you just have to kidnap the family and have them carry the poptarts
lol! That hilarious.. our son is not interested at all in carrying the pop tarts unfortunately. We are disappointed to leave the AT but looking forward to seeing more of this Beautiful country from a tent. Stick with us. We plan to have at least a video a week come out .

In fact the hubs and I think we were right behind u two by a day or 2 when u did the NOC (guestimating the delay and what the scenery looked like and the comment regarding the shelter with the hiker vomitting). The box is a cool place but it’s expensive best place to get a box but when I got there I ordered like 60 bucks worth of food lol hiker hunger hit me on my second step but a young lady working there insisted they pickup the tab I offered a 20 dollar tip she refused thank you so much for my trail angel
Have enjoyed your hike, comments, etc. The body can take only so much and you two are carrying real loads. Solo hikers can carry less, etc., and health, logistics, family, etc., are different for all hikers. I've seen some vlogs showing the north section and the last 200 miles or so are dangerous at times. Tough going, so if you go off trail maybe you can section hike some of the rest in the future.
Definitely finish you will regret it later the trail hurts it’s about over coming adversity the Florida trail connects with at all the way to Canada I started the at went 6 months on
I’m starting sb hike on pct next month got crushed after coming off of A.T left me bedridden for 5 years then started walking a little and picked something up broke my back in 3 places put me down for another year I’m back to hiking a little but you can accomplish anything if your willing to suffer the pain it takes to do it living the dream is hard that’s why so many never achieve them good luck keep living the dream happy trails

Thru hiker here. It's not meant to be pleasant (all the time). Much of it is about perseverance and being able to be comfortable while uncomfortable or in pain. If it was easy, everyone would do it - like visiting a beach in a camper van. Not to say one is better than the other. Having realistic expectations is paramount. It's not "camping". It's not sight seeing or day hiking. It's grinding and hiking all day everyday pretty much. And it's beautiful (to some). I will say, the pain could have been much less had you trained, bought more suited/lighter gear and prepared financially. Your packs were way too heavy. There is a mountain of information out there about this (and no, ultralight gear isn't necessarily more expensive). It's not for everyone, one in four roughly makes it and that's fine. Don't beat yourself up too much and learn from this.

Glacier national park is awesome. We spent a week Wish we could have stayed longer. Good choice Health is the right choice.
