  • Telepathy - getting work done with the power of thoughts. Elon Musk’s new brain chip implant is meant to make that happen. But what are the real benefits of so-called BCI technology?

Just think how easily controlled the 'patient' would be by anyone who chose to hijack the computer. The pirate controlling the signal could freely abuse the patient by controlling every aspect of their life. .How then would the patient block the pirate controlling the signal?

I don't follow, do you mean that someone would take over patient's senses and body or their phone ? I guess that taking over the brain would most likely require deeper "drilling" or long time for proper neuron connections to grow which might me noticed along the process .

To control it, you have to hook it up to your brain.
It's a "one-way" signal going out, not back in.

Neuralink is with much higher number of electrodes and much higher resolution, than the other devices you mention, or any other current or past devices for that matter.

    One problem: intrusive thoughts

@@Schmorgus I'll give you an example:
Non-intrusive: "Dear John/Jane Doe, I hope you had a good day and that this email finds you well. I look forward to tomorrow's meeting in the hopes that we will solve some of the company's more pressing challenges. I am eager to see what you have to present as I'm sure it will be of value to our team. Please have a good night and I will see you tomorrow.
P.S., if you need me to prepare anything extra in advance let me know."
Intrusive: "Dear Chuckles, I hope you had an awful day because you are the reason I drink every night. I'm emailing you to inform you that I have a number of better things to do tomorrow than look at your shallow-jawed face talk at me and my fellow endentured servants during tomorrow's work meeting. These meetings are pointless as their frequency seems to offer little to nothing in the way of personal growth or solutions for the problems we face as a company. But we merry few in the workspace will nevertheless pretend you are more knowledgeable than us since our jobs depend on it. But let's be honest, your position was only attained by your seniority alone and not by any kind of merit or ability. I know it. You know it. We all know it. Yet we pretend like you're somehow someone we ought to listen to. So while I will be in attendance tomorrow, please know that I will be zoining out and sleeping with my eyes open. Because nodding along with nothing in my head is preferable to advice you have to offer.
P.S. - Don't bother me at all, I checked out at 5 and I won't give you more time unless you give me more money. Go jump in a river."
And just as a disclaimer, I do love where I work right now. But I have had bad bosses in the past and know that my emails would be significantly more intrusively written if I had a brain implant. But hey, at least my intrusive thoughts don't swear.

Teslas have the highest safety rating of any car ever made and also have extremely low maintenance compared to most cars. They have some panel gap issues. Also nueralink is by far the most advanced brain implant ever made and its not even close. You just need to study these things more

😂 Nonsense. There’s so much unknown about the brain let alone knowledge about thoughts to carry this out. The brain chip is purely functional based on its program’s output - not from the brains input. To connect a complicated brain to a device is illogical. You have two outputs - the brain and the programming. To sync the two has never worked in nature or science.
