As a Texas fan, sadly you are right. We’ve underperformed for decades even with Smack Brown leading us. I was never sold on that man and our AD back then was a solid loser and then they named a street after him on campus.
However, I believe in our new coach and AD and Sark isn’t afraid to recruit across the globe. Smack was scared of offending Texas high school coaches and he was incredibly afraid of Bob Stoops. OU under Stoops drubbed us 4 times when we had equal talent. Smack Brown let that happen and he cost us Saban, too, the wimp.

For the conference championship game I'm predicting Utah vs Kansas State.
I also had Utah KSU champ game
I am predicting Utah vs UCF, call me crazy.
I had Utah just missing out but instead have k-state and Oklahoma State. Iowa State and Texas tech are also really close for me. Kansas is good but lacks the depth and wvu's schedule is too tough. As for Arizona I think they will fall off majorly from last year

OSU seems to have the best chance, but there are a lot of variables this year that are hard to account for. So many new teams, atmospheres, climates, travel, and play styles. Feels like a deck being shuffled into place, but with a new hierarchy. Good year to have 20 returning starters, a Heisman candidate, a rowdy stadium, having been in 2 of the last 3 big 12 championships, and a damn good coach with a 20 year track record of winning. Emphasis on the last part.

@@adamhester372 What does 2003 or 2012 have to do with this year anyway? Ages ago in football terms. Also you're comparing Ollie to the GOAT, but Ollie is still a Heisman contender and better than anything you have. OSU has the best record/most wins of any big 12 team since 2020 at 37-15 (10th nationally) compared to KSU who is 36th at 31-19. Since you like history going all the way back to 2006 OSU is still the team with the most wins/best record of our entire conference. That means if you look at "team wins by year" OSU is consistently at or near the top 10 nationally. Since 2006 OSU is 162-72 (10th nationally) to KSUs 135-93 (37th). OSU's biggest problem was ou and now they are gone. We still own you of late.

Your Top Teams in the Big 12 are....
- Utah (Proven Winners & Back-2-Back Pac-12 Champs)
- KSU (2022 Big 12 Champs)
- OSU (Been twice, Always over .500)
Right now, before conference play, I agree with your subjective order, but the schedule is such that we will know early (first two weeks of conference play) in the season how those three elite contenders should be objectively ranked 1, 2 and 3.
oSu, Utah and KSU are by far the top three contenders IMO. The Cowboys play both Utah (home) and KSU (away) and Utah and KSU do not play each other. If the Cowboys go 2-0 they are defacto #1 Elite contender. If they split, they are #2 behind the team that beat them (Utah or KSU) If oSu loses both games they fall to #3 and it is a coin flip between Utah and KSU.

Conference Championship? OKST vs KANSAS.... I really wanted to put Arizona but even with some of the great kids that stayed, they lost enough that I think they will suffer a bit. Watching everyone pick Utah as the Conference Champion has taken any 'chip' they usually operate with off their Shoulder. Their fans are arrogant and conceited and we'll see if that trollish behavior is adopted by the team. I love walking the walk and talking the talk and even though I love Cam Rising, he's not played since season before last. He's injury prone. Utah better have the best Oline in the Conference or they will be running with QB #2 and a possible repeat of last year. Texas Tech is the top Dark Horse IMO. BYU is the biggest question mark. I think the OC is on the Bubble. He really blew it last season and didn't really change alot from last season. The fact that the BYU OC is struggling to pick a QB instead of going with Gerry Bohanon who is a B12 Champion right off the bat shows the ineptness. For those saying that Bohannon is a question mark. How is it that Cam Rising is fine at Utah after not playing last year and Bohannon who is in the same boat is not?
When Utah wins the conference I’ll be back to laugh😂 most successful team in the conference so going for tf of statistics they’re the best team. You can’t argue numbers dumb dumb. That’s all analysts do is talk numbers, we will see what happens

Well Arizona got their best CB back who was in transfer portal and decided to come back. Kansas state added Dylan Edwards from Colorado recently at RB. UCF even got Peny Boone who was at Louisville this spring and before that he was at Toledo at RB.
I do agree those are the top 7 teams in the big 12, and this is a wide open conference. Granted all of these teams in the big 12 could more transfers. The transfer portal window did end but that was for the paperwork to exit their school we technically could see players name announced to be in the transfer portal.
I do agree with the bottom 4 teams in the big 12.
I agree with the bottom 4 but I'd add Baylor. I think zona will struggle majorly which is sad because u really liked them last year
Didn't Arizona lose a stud 4-star WR to Washington? They still have a future 1st rounder in Tetairoa McMillian though.
The Big 12 is the most unpredictable conference this season and there are at least 7 teams that could win the conference in my opinion: Utah, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Kansas, Kansas State, West Virginia and Iowa State.. Then the other 6 teams fill out the rest of the league in Baylor, Central Florida, TCU, BYU, Texas Tech, Colorado, Arizona State, Cincinnati and Houston!!!
For my Big 12 Prediction for the Championship Game: Utah vs Oklahoma State in Arlington!!!
UCF is high on my list to be a dark horse champion along with Kansas and Arizona.
In the level just below them, as best of the rest, I would put TCU, Texas Tech, West Virginia and Iowa State.
The no-chance this year gang includes, Baylor, CinCin, BYU, Houston, Colorado, and Arizona St

For now. Tulane has the ability to grow into a power 5 team given the opportunity but I doubt that about Tulsa and ASU has proven they are capable of being a good football program
Tulsa will replace Oklahoma State when the Cowboys move to the SEC along with Clemson.

I disagree with Arizona and Kansas. Arizona lost their head coach and Kansas remains their head coach and their team is LOADED. How can Arizona be above Kansas?
It was very, very close. And you could bump Kansas into that Elite category if you wanted to. But I liked what I saw from Arizona last year. Right now I’m taking Fifita over Daniels at QB (especially with Daniels’ injury history) and AZ WR corps is slightly better than KU. Theyre a young team that won 7 straight to end the year with many coming in dominating fashion. The coaching change puts a wrinkle in things, but Brennan can run an offense. If the AZ defense (which is a little better than KU as of now) does their job, they’ll be just fine. It was super close but I just like AZ a tiny bit better at the end of the day.
@@TheGridironExpertI'll disagree. I think Kansas could have the best qb in the big 12 if he stays healthy and they have one of the best coaches. The offense is no joke and the defense is pretty good up front even though they lack depth. Obviously cam rising at Utah and that guy at k-state are really good QBs as well. And Colorado has a great qb but nothing outside of that and Travis Hunter

Don't throw Texas in that start with Oklahoma. Yes they won a combined 18 but Oklahoma and Baylor or Kansas State won a combined 17. Texas won 4 and Oklahoma won 14

I don't buy Arizona as an elite level contender just yet. I think they are getting too much credit for beating Oklahoma last year. I would drop them down to the serious level (potential dark horse championship game participant level) We will know early in the season how the three elite contenders should be ranked 1, 2, 3.

I think home field advantage will determine the outcome of this trifecta of teams with Utah losing in Stillwater and a strong possibility of the Cowboys losing in the Little Apple the next week. Another game that concerns me is the following week West Virginia coming to Stillwater after resting and preparing with a bye week. The games with Utah and KSU are going to be physical, to say the least, and the opportunity for injuries is great.

Now that’s a move I didn’t see coming! Hate to see WImsatt go, but Schiano clearly feels that Athan gives them the best chance to win. My gut says WImsatt (if he wants to be a starter) will go to a G5 school. Only 2 years of eligibility left and he won’t want to sit on the bench somewhere. It’s going to be very interesting. He has a lot of talent, just needs the right coaching/system to fix some mechanics and decision making!

What drugs and alcohol have you been taking? Utah has not played one Big 12 team. Arizona lost all kinds of players and coaches. WVU is returning all of its offensive players and beefed up its defense. WVU will be playing in the Big 12 championship.
Time will tell. WVU has loads of talent and will be very good but disregarding Utah and Arizona is a huge mistake. These teams aren’t like last year’s newcomers (UCF, Cincy, Houston, BYU) that all finished with a losing record. Utah and Arizona will immediately contend.

The one in 2012 you pointed out in the other comment was shared with OU, so i guess that's a "pretend conference championship" using your logic. OSU has won more games in the last 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, and 20 years than Kansas State. And that was playing in the stronger big 12 south, too. You've won 1 out of the last 5 against OSU. Sit down.

Utah will lose more than 3 games this year. This is the Big 12 not the sissy Pac 12.
The PAC-12 was one of the best conferences in the country last season. Better than the Big 12. Utah won 8 games in that conference pretty much without a QB. They will be just fine.

The o-line had to be way better not just a little and the defense has to get more than a few stops. Bowl eligible should be their goal and i don't think they make it. They need to recruit highschool kids and build the program up. Deion is like reverse dabo and neither philosophy will work

It’s going to work because this year he got half guys who have 2-3 years of eligibility and half guys who have 1 year left he already has the foundation now and he’s gonna do it one more time then be heavy high school

@@zahzeewhite13 I'm betting money it doesn't. Unless you mean 6-6 is working. We saw two flash in the pan seasons of it working at USC last year and Michigan State a few years ago but what followed was terrible and Michigan State even fired their coach. The transfer portal might buy a season but that's it and you have to already have a capable o-line as those guys don't transfer and it helps to have a great coach like Lincoln Riley (on offense anyways). Deion hasn't proven he's a top level coach yet

I don’t get the KU hype. They’ve been absolutely trash since 2007. Like the worst P5 in the entire country terrible. They are decent now, but like 5-7 wins. Not contenders. Just stop. Their stadium is G5 level, too.
They won 9 games last year? They've improved every year with the new coach and no reason to believe they'll do worse without Texas and Oklahoma in the conference
