Mt. Yale - ascent of the collegiate peak along its SW slopes route, with maps & route description

Footage from my hike to the top of Collegiate Peak Mt. Yale on September 5, 2019 via its standard SW slopes route, along with maps and route description. This is a class 2 hike to a summit with a spectacular vantage point.

This hike is fairly simple, straightforward and direct, with moderate endurance stats....though fairly steep. It is very similar to climbing the standard route up Mt. Belford, another Sawatch 14er just to the north. Like Mt. Belford, this is an excellent route for a first-time 14er climb. Happy trails.

14:36 that incline had you puffin’ pretty hard, must be steep in that section. A very nice view from the top. Well done!

That part is particularly steep, as is this mountain overall. Short, steep....sweet! And yeah, this summit affords a good vista.
