    Careful my friend...….30 year Lake Tahoe Cal.skier here... invest $30 for a group lesson and you will know how to stop ! That's very important...then you will be able to actually go on that run with a little practice and have a great time without risking your life

    Haha one time I went here on a church trip and my friend's older brothers convinced us to take this slope, claiming it was fine for new skiers. We got up there and immediately realized it was icy and steep, but tried anyway and I completely busted my ass on the first part of the hill. We had to slide down on our butts the rest of the way.

    I so love the trash Talk. Skied many places and have also worked here. Slopes are no Joke when everything is up and running from the top. Had many Skiers from many places say it did not look like much till they were on the slope. Good family owned and operated slope. Come give it a try. Saying is, you can ski Ober, you can ski anywhere. Don't trash it till you try it guys!!!

    People say it looks easy. Its honestly pretty steep in person and what makes it alot worse is that its all packed down and ice so you get so grip in the snow and just slide down alot.

      this is also blue, this run is called ober chute, if he kept going straight at the end of the video he wouldve merged into the black diamond run but im pretty sure he didnt. i went there a week ago no lessons first time ever snowboarding and i think i did pretty good, after a few runs down the easy ones i went up there and fell a few times on the first try but after you memorize the trail its easy, i cant wait to go back next year.

    This is a green/blue terrain where I ski. I'm from the Gatlinburg, Knoxville area and moved to Utah to work at Snowbasin resort. It's blue runs are more intense than the most intense runs at Ober. This poor guy wouldn't have much fun at 'Basin.

      What is this blue green thing I keep reading about? I’m from Miami and never skied before and I’m possibly planning to in 2 weeks when my family and I go to Gatlinburg. Please advise

    • @eeman0201
      @eeman0201 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelcabrera7420 little bit late so you probably already know the basics of this if you did go skiing, but they are trail difficulty markings. They are based purely on how steep it is (you can have a green thats harder than a blue if conditions/terrain is bad).
      green is beginner, you can usually barrel down these and be fine as long as you can pizza (wedge stop).
      blue is intermediate. You can get away with wedging, but you have to be constantly braking yourself; you cant just barrel down. (if you can hockey stop you can barrel a bit more tho)
      black is expert. you maybe can survive barreling, but youll be going highway speeds at the bottom of the hill. wedging does not work. You must know how to parallel turn in order to regulate speed. There might be moguls (bumps caused by people paralleling) which make blacks even harder to navigate.)

    I find this hilarious only because when I was 7 years old learning to snowboard up in Montana (blue sky / big mountain, something like that), first day was only bunny slopes, second day was a half day where I was cut loose after getting off the bunny lifts with my instructor, and what did I do next, went up the main lift and my path was to do a blue down, but I turned right too quick and went down a double black diamond, so yeah, I feel ya bro, but I laugh with you not at ya haha

    I'm gonna have a lot of fun at bear creek pa! :D I'm going to teach myself to ski backwards. I can already do some, and can ski on one foot. Plus I can go super fast and turn at 50mph. We had some speed runs at upstate new york. Hunter Mountain to be exact! My brothers went faster, plus they had better skies, they reached over 60mph. I got close to 60 I believe.

    You made the right decision stopping as beginners. The next part of the slope would have possibly injured you if you would have gone for it. I’ve been there hundreds of times and I’ve seen many people carried off on the very next slope which drops down significantly if you had gone to the right by mistake, nearly a vertical drop,,,
