Tom is such a role model. He could easily turn four blinks into an expensive training that excludes less privileged clinicians (and in turn their less privileged clients) but he prioritizes making this healing accessible for everyone. He has a knack for explaining very complicated information in ways that overworked and overwhelmed clinicians can still understand. I was working in a rural substance use recovery setting and was able to get most of my coworkers to take his free flash training, they could not afford emdr basic but now they have a transformational trauma processing technique to use with clients who really need it I don’t think it’s possible for me to admire a human being more. Thank you so much
When will psytechvr be available at the local level? I see an explosion of available EMDR practitioners compared to just a few years ago. Are there professional standards for quality control?
These are good questions: PsyTechVR works on developing an EMDR tools. As for professional standards - are you referring to EMDR in general or to VR-EMDR?
@@HammyGirl999 - first, EMDRIA's approval of courses is only for EMDRIA approved trainings. There are other EMDR organizations around the world and they are not all in alignment.
I'm not sure it serves us to have therapists putting themselves (i.e. the therapeutic relationship) at the heart of therapy. Even if it's true, we should do better and create systems that don't have such a high barrier to entry; so few people, even in the first world, have access to a therapist at all, let alone one with a TH-cam channel.
Are these podcasts still available as audio versions? I prefer just listening to them.

Agreed! 100%! Tom Zimmerman is one of the most inspiring EMDR professionals in the world.

I think EMDRIA approval of EMDR courses is THE quality control I know about. Other than that, there are not rigorous standards.
