Nice video Luke! To prevent the fish from snapping your leader, try using heavier leader like 130lb and 150lb if they don’t want the wire trace.

Hey Luke, love your effort man and producing this content it’s genuinely great and inspiring. Just wanted to tell you that from what I’ve learnt, the further you put the hook away from the mullets head, the longer it will stay live.
U should have came to Yarrabah its nivmce we have the jetty and the beach is beautiful u can catch prawns and mullets

There’s probably 100 ways to throw a car I do it in a similar way but that first you gather up in your hand as well and then just hold a single lead line it helps release but whatever feels comfortable

Little tip when your hook setting on the fish don't Tighten the drag instead hold the spool and hook set because there will be more fish hooked and less lost

I would but I live to far away 😢but you will still be all good without any one keep going with all your videos they great
instead of just holding a but of the actual net keep putting it over your hand or finger a few
times and make sure its inside out on your hand

Another tip mate, don’t lock your drag, you have heaps of line and you need to let it run a bit, they slow down when they get tired, then you just pump it in, but don’t tighten the drag
you can also hook the bait through the eyes and it stays alive really good

Hey bro, the reason you lost a couple of those fish is that you didnt set the hook hard enough, when you tighten the drag after the fish takes it you need to strike into it really hard 2 or 3 times
Don’t let the fish run that long just make sure the hook is set and rip it in unless it’s going to snap the rod, I have the same rod as you and they are very strong

@lukefalzon you shouldnt really tighten the drag so much while the fish is screaming off to try and slow it down, I'd hook set it then wait til it slows down to tighten the drag up or just tighten it bit by bit as you will just lose it with too much drag pressure

Mate, first off don’t completely loosen your drag when your bait is out there. The size of fish your catching will take the line without noticing that little tension. 2nd do not tighten your drag while the fish is screaming on a run. Just keep pressure until they tire. You’re not pulling fish up from a wreck so no need to muscle them up.
You should make your drag tighter so it won't rub with a small fish only the big ones

Smallest mullet live bait ever i use normally 10 to 15 cm long livys for small fish like flattys and salmon i use 30cm.salmon for snapper or gummys
