thank you for all the time and effort you put in making and editing your videos that in my book is what make you and nevs fishing the best fishing channels in the world (if I do i don't mean to offend anyone)
Hi Luke try a double hook snelled rig. Pin one under the belly (because you are using sinkers) and one through the mouth. Have the sinkers toward the back of the fish. This will keep the live fish facing upwards.
8:00 if you look how the fish is on the hook theres no way a fish is going to get hooked by it you need to push the hook threw the fish more exposing the barb unless the fish will just rip your bait off or its face 😂
I suggest asking stores for certain lures for certain fish you're trying to catch , like yes keep at it with live bait for your missions, but with lures you will definitely bring a fishy home for Aria! Just thought it makes sense to do as you're already out there with all the gear because if live bait fails then a lure might work ❤
The fish target the eyes of the bait so when you hook it try to hook it like at the back of the head a little above the spine also can use like a double hook rig with one hook at the back of the head and the other back a bit and set your drag to be loose so that when a fish takes the bait, it can run without feeling the resistance of your line if it does it properly will spit your bait out and let the fish run for like 3-5 seconds than grab your spool and yank back on the rod that should for sure make sure to set the hook because they are circle hooks they should mostly set themselves in the corner of the fish's mouth, I hope some of that helps igh oh and a big tip is get rid of the hair it might be scaring the fish away haha
Hey brother, that was a great catch that little kid made. If you notice he had a small hook that’s one thing. I always wanted to tell you you need to change the size of your hook. You keep fishing with too big of hooks you can catch 10 or 15 pound fish with a size 2 hook and for all those other small fish use a four or six and when you’re using hooks to catch bait fish eight or 10 this will help you hook up a lot more those times that you get bites and hook up is hitting your bait, but the hooks are too big for them to take. Thank you so much for your great videos my wife love to watch you good luck and safe travels, brother.
Hey luke if your casing Jewish I would recommend for you to buy a bait runner and use it with a circle hook and let it run twice then on the last run while it’s running wind it so your drag kicks in then you just got to bring it in.
We catch those mulloway here in South Africa, you would've easily hooked them using paddle tails especially at night. If using livebait, a trace with 2x hooks would've been better or if you decide to use one hook, you should've bridled a piece of line or Dacron through the live baits eye sockets and attached a hook so your hook would've always been proud.
Bro one of the best rigs for jewfish are easy rigs with 2 big 5,0 circle hooks on the live bait one hook on the neck of the bait fish and the other hook near the tail
Try using 20lb 30lb mono you will catch 10x more fish then braid with live bait and bait please try one rod with mono line you will see what I mean keep up the good work love your vids bro
Hi Bud great content, to increase your success rate change your rig. Keep your bait off the ground with about 50 cm of line. You will get the rig from Zoo look fishing. We catch them in Sa between the 10kg and 50kg weight.
Hey Luke when you get to gueensland you should come for a fish with me I’ll hook you onto whatever you like and will give ya some tips and tricks about how to catch certain types of fish
im from canada, watching and loving your content are you allowed to use crab snare boxes on your fishing rods . they use them a lot in the USA California
Tip with running live bait just run a hook no sinker the bait u were using is big enough to sw8m out on its own but with the sinker the just sit on the bottom nd barely move around
for bigger liveys like that i find success in using a snell knot double or triple hooks but when you can for smaller liveys instead of just doing one hook put the hook through fully once then just stick it through the body then the fish is stuck swimming in circles, i’ve had heaps of success this way and you lose the live bait less
Hey bro of that jetty or catch mulloway in genrell use a snell rig with a star sinker as i have had one hook in my live bait many times and the jewies have mist the hook
Hey mate, the salmon run has started up the WA coast I'll be targetting them really good fighting fish, they normally start in Albany and go all the way up to Perth
For the fish that hang around the edge of the Jeti you could use a net for them and try bait casting you don’t need any bait and the only thing you need is a lure and try that, I’m just saying you don’t have to do that
You need to change your trace..You need a swivel atleast 60cm away from your hook.. fishing like you doing right now pins your Live bait to the bottom unable to swim freely and easy pickings for crabs
try out denmark western australia if you have the chance its relativley untouched area with huge pink snapper in the most random spots like 70cm+ its a great place
also if you dont want blue mana's attaking your bait use a float to keep it just at surface level maybe a foot deep they still might be able to get it but it will 100% target mulloway rather than crab
I like to keep the bream that are like 25-35 cm big which are around 6-7 years old. Bream do taste quite good and make a good feed when nothing else is biting.
Learn how to snell 3 suicide hooks on 40/60lb leader , big baits equals big fish . Do not close the mouth of the fish when rigging it can go under the jaw and out the mouth start from the tail and the mouth hook is closet to the swivel … some southwest boys channels to watch are Dixon brothers and Gido fishing, tight lines …
That was fkn Awesome Luke, I think u had more fun a watching the kids ,and we really enjoyed it , best video Mate 👍🏻Enjoy, stay safe & Happy travels
so much fun we all loved it and thank you for the kind words, see you next week

That’s mad brother I love it thank you again brother
Funny. I was a tiler for 12 years, had a back injury and got into IT. Still fishing the weekends though ;'D
well done brother fish hard
Why would you use £100 litre I catch barramundi on £50. That are well over a metre.
Womp womp probably cause he lived in cairns with crocodiles
Hey luke if your casing Jewish I would recommend for you to buy a bait runner and use it with a circle hook and let it run twice then on the last run while it’s running wind it so your drag kicks in then you just got to bring it in.
Hey Luke those bites on the live bait can also sometimes be bream picking of the live bait. It happens a lot to me so you can really never tell.
Love it Luke ❤
thank you :) i'm glad
for mulloway i have had great success fishing in gear especially using circle hooks. its seem you have your line set too loose.
ok brother maybe i will tighten it
You should use a smaller hook to catch the live baits. You can get hooks the size of your finger nail.
Not to small or they’ll get gut hooked
next time i will deff do that
is that what you want
Love your videos so much 🎉🎉
i'm glad brother how are you?

Mate I’m doing alr. I’m going fishing today.
that first fish you lost you left way to much slack. When u were winding really slow with no tension, you’ll get em next time though
Great video
cheers brother
Would a snelled rig work with the trumpeters?
i gotta learn how to :)
Love your show man, such a normal dude that has shit happen but keep on trying! God bless brother! Besh wishes from South Africa!

Loved this episode so much, them kids were bringing in the fish
Young bloke had a stingray for sure. The way it was running and its movements were a dead giveaway
What dedication to jump in for the hand line
hahahahaha yeah didnt want to leave it in the water
"Every single time it goes for its head" *Continues to hook the live baits at the back*
love your videos, your smashing it brother, If you are ever around Hervey Bay way id froth to catch up for a fish with you mate.
Try using 20lb 30lb mono you will catch 10x more fish then braid with live bait and bait please try one rod with mono line you will see what I mean keep up the good work love your vids bro

great video legend
You need to use a double hook snell rig it’ll double your hookup rate.
Hi Luke I’m going to be at Albany tomorrow where’s that jetty ❤
Hello sir, I'm Cambodia, thank you for sharing this video!
Hey mate I loved this video

How is the reel on the 3ird live bait rod cos I'm planing on getting one
Keep having fun
Its the memories you make
Hey bro of that jetty or catch mulloway in genrell use a snell rig with a star sinker as i have had one hook in my live bait many times and the jewies have mist the hook
Try keeping the pilchard in salt, it makes them tougher and stay on the hook longer
i’m not very sure but you could try using a snail rig and hook one behind the back of the neck and behind the fin
Hey mate, the salmon run has started up the WA coast I'll be targetting them really good fighting fish, they normally start in Albany and go all the way up to Perth
Would of love to see what was on the end of tysons line if that wasn't a sting ray bad luck young fella
wonder what is was man we will never no
Hey luke snell rig is your best option as from witchever way he eats the live bait a hook will be waiting to pinch him in the corner of the mouth
Hello Luke just wanna say you should come down to Busselton and fish of the 3.2km jetty( I got a sambo 135 cm and 17kg
What jetty is this?
Good video Luke , will you ever come to Sydney for a fish ?
For the fish that hang around the edge of the Jeti you could use a net for them and try bait casting you don’t need any bait and the only thing you need is a lure and try that, I’m just saying you don’t have to do that
Why don't you buy some sabiki rigs to catch your live baits . They only cost a few bucks and will catch you heaps of bait easier
i have to look into it but yes wanna try it
You need to change your trace..You need a swivel atleast 60cm away from your hook.. fishing like you doing right now pins your Live bait to the bottom unable to swim freely and easy pickings for crabs
Luke are you ever coming back to Cairns I want meet you
yeah brother very soon man ill be back
try out denmark western australia if you have the chance its relativley untouched area with huge pink snapper in the most random spots like 70cm+ its a great place
Great vid
Luke what rod is that, you know the one with the blue line
Bro you need to tighten the drag so when the fish goes for the run the hook pools through
Always good entertainment your videos lol
Is this jetty part of the camp ground? I was told I couldn’t fish there…private property???
Where was this?
Hi mate sick vid are you coming to port Hedland
also if you dont want blue mana's attaking your bait use a float to keep it just at surface level maybe a foot deep they still might be able to get it but it will 100% target mulloway rather than crab
Have you tried going for some blue swimmers there’s heaps here in wa
Yo that kid that caught the fish that’s one of my really good friends from school
Use a snell rig for the mulloway let’s you put a hook near the head and one near the tail
you should use some long shank hooks for your trumpeter like size 1
Love it dont want to go back to work on monday😂😂😂
great video so far, only halfway in it. also the sound cuts out alot
yeah its the mic bro sorry the wind was very bad
my left ear enjoyed this video
I can’t believe you guys came to Albany
idk why but the entire video was in my left ear , gropo audio was fine, happeend a few times on ur videos
And luke please hook the bait fish through the nose if your hook size is right for the bait it will be snug and wont wiggle in you will not loose fish
If ya ever come pass Newman WA feel free to message can take ya out on a hunt and have land where ya can set up ya caravan around the horses
With your live baits mate hook through just in front of the dorsal fin baits swims more natural and your hookup rate will be better
Hey luke im a big fan and i support everything you do may i ask how you have money to afford all this stuff without a job?
Merch
That’s a pufferfish eating on the bats
I bet you'll get a Mulloway next time around, it's bound to happen. Hopefully you'll bag a Barra when you get back to FNQ.
Get yourself a throw net dude!
Cast net?
Try running a stinger hook at the head of the bait
You should come to Busselton
Try not to keep bream, the big ones are like 40 years old and there’s many better fish alternatives.
I like to keep the bream that are like 25-35 cm big which are around 6-7 years old. Bream do taste quite good and make a good feed when nothing else is biting.

@trxq7173 I'm more worried about beach haulers taking tonnes of 45cm plus fish
