This made me think of a possible series you could make! Step 1: Find a comedic argument on Board Game Geek. Step 2: Act it out using the same method as you use here. Step 3: Profit.
ahaha thanks man! Not gonna lie, the Ameritrash guy was more tiring to do, and I had multiple takes where I just couldn't help laughing for the Euro dude. Cheers! -Ashton
Please PLEASE make this into some sort of series’s this is really awesome to watch and very interesting to listen to both sides points also this video was so hilarious XD
Great video, got a hard belly laugh at the "look at these imbeciles, thinking they're having fun!" segment. Have definitely run into this snooty type of player before
Aaaahhh yes reminds me of how Elitist Euro gamers can be - met a few and my god I want to have fun and banter - Ameritrash all the way. Lol. But it's funny now how many games now cross over with very similar mechanics - from Euro to Ameritrash.
I have to say: u did a great job! I was so annoyed at both this and ameritrash loving guy! I barely set through through this video even though I know it's all a joke. U really captured the essence of talking to such people.
I was definitely waiting the whole video for the bit at the end where the Euro guy was caught playing a Euro game with all the elements he was shitting on. Also aren't Gaia project's pieces plastic?
It's a great video and I can agree My only problem with euro is the vp based games why just counting points? It's boring for me to count score Euro without points is amazing I agree I hate resolving everything with dice I love deciding after rolling dice Time is really a money I totally agree but no vp for me please
Thanks! The counting points thing can be a little repetitive yeah, my hope for the future is that there's apps that can use your phone's camera to instantly calculate score! I heard there's somethign in the works for TTR right now. Cheers! -Ashton
As an amateurish Board gamer can someone tell me what these games are in terms of continental categories? Gotham City Strategy Ankh Morpork Dune Blood Rage Rising Sun Game of Thrones Iron Throne (cosmic encounter reskin) Oath breaker Dead of Winter Kemet China Town Also these are the best games, nothing can change my mind.
Keep in mind that many newer games are hybrids, that seek to combine the best elements from both worlds. I haven't played all on that list, but most would lean towards American. Biggest indicator is the direct conflict, eg directly attacking opponents. Euro games have very little of that. Maybe some cards that steal 2 wood, but nothing like attacking an opponent army.
As someone who spends time in the US in the summers and plays a lot of Ameritrash and then buys it and hopes to play it the same way here at home in Europe ... let me just tell you it does not work out very well. Triumph and Tragedy! No Retreat! 1846! COIN games like Liberty or Death! aaaah find me a player in Europe that likes ameritrash. They are rare I tell you. So I am buying more Euro games now to balance out my collection and make it more playable ...
aww dang man! Thanks for sharing this, I actually didn't realize it was hard to find players in Europe that like Ameritrash, but I suppose it makes sense. But you know, you can't go wrong with some Brass Birmingham :) -Ashton
@@Shelfside I am happy you reply to my comments I will definitely consider Brass Birmingham :) Although recently I bought Parks and I am considering Photosynthesis and also an expansion to Wingspan as it proved popular. Plenty of wargamers (playing those games you mentioned) and Ameritrash gamers in Europe as well, at least based on my personal experience and observations. Probably depends more on a gaming group than location. Yes, there are probably more wargamers and Ameritrash gamers in the US and the UK than in continental European countries, but I'm still quite sure that finding Ameritrash players shouldn't be too difficult
Haha, brilliant! Totally agree about euros... haven't watched the counterpart video yet and I'm not sure I can handle that other noob saying Ameritrash is better.
yep, I would agree that Blood Rage leans much more towards Euro than Ameritrash! Just thought the minis would make a great example for that part, and this particular character probably thinks the draft is too much luck for him :) -Ashton
@@OrdemDoGraveto aah, just responded to your earlier comment! Well the draft is across the 3 eras, so there's emergent luck across the game, whereas Gaia Project has everything randomized at the get go. -Ashton

You just said we play to escape as an argument againts ameritrash games, when euro games are baout farming, being a merchant and about things you do every day.😂😂😂 (I know it's a satire😊)
I love how the ameritrash video described why ameritrash is actually better, and then the eurostyle video does the same, and describes why ameritrash is better.
It is isn't exactly an ameritrash, but is a great visual example I suppose. Also some really hardcore euro players dislike it because there can be some luck in the draft with some swingy cards/combos (throne of odin really comes to mind). Cheers! -Ashton
