Why didn't you cover the steps to remove the focuser knob? The steps written steps supplied with the kit is kind of daunting. It would have been nice to see those steps. But nevertheless, a very useful video. Thanks
I haven' t taken mine apart to clean it yet as I never understood how the focus shaft connected to the (whatever it was) inside the telescope. Now I see it is a hole in the shaft and how it comes apart and how it goes together. Exactly what I needed to know. Thank you for the video. I suppose it is too much trouble to remove the rear assembly of the telescope to clean and re-lubricate the grease that the mirror assembly slides on? Everybody seems to say run the focuser back and forth several times to redistribute the gooey grease. Seems l like there should be a clean and re-lub procedure. I don't want to take it apart until I understand it much better than I do now.
The procedure involves removing the corrector plate and pulling the primary out from the front of the OTA. Before you begin this process you need to mark the orientation of the corrector plate WRT the primary and OTA so that you install it in the same orientation as before.
first remove the whole focus assembly from the telescope. then use non marring plyers to hold the brass housing, then remove the focus knob. clean all pieces and polish any surface that contacts the bearings. reassemble the whole assembly before you put it back into the telescope. it is very easy to remove and install the focuser. I have done this several times.

Awesome video, thanks for uploading it. Two things would make it better. 1. A tripod. 2. Some lights. It's a little hard to see things.
yes I know camera tripod is in the workings so I can work with both hands sorry about that.
