I'm 76 but when I was young we definately played with marbles and when we outgrew (?) them our parents would put them in flower pots or fish aquariums. My brother and I would use them in our homemade slingshots. I guess we scattered a few thousand of them all around the countryside.

I remember when my son was younger I take him out with me along our local river with his friends, river caldew in Carlisle & Eden, they found clay pipe with the stem on, codd bottles which have local names on, fossils, they would take them into school to show the teachers and classmates. They are 21years old now & still have them

In some places in the US boys used marbles as sling shot ammunition. That’s why they sometimes turn up In odd places. Sadly back in the day they were often used to bring down birds that were bothering crops. But others just shot them for no reason whatsoever. I know some were quite good at using a sling shot. I was reared on a farm and would often find stone and glass marbles while field walking looking for fossils, arrowheads and horse shoes.

That marble, the white one. I don't think it's a marble actually. It has an opal spark inside when you roll it in your hand. It might be a piece of something big.

I bet if you look around, you could find the pieces of the broken things you find. You'll like this: When I was a kid, I was digging out a bottle pit in my backyard. I found a about a quarter of a Southern Pacific Railroad Dining Car service dinner plate. Well, I kept it. Years later, about half a mile from my house, I was walking with my dad along a section of the railroad that had just been torn up by a tractor. Among the cool things we found, I spotted a piece of a dinner plate in the dirt. Would you believe it was another SP Dining Car service plate?! This one had yellow flowers on it. My first one had red ones. So I put it with my other one when I got it home. ...And found out it FITTED TOGETHER WITH THE OTHER ONE!! 😮 Now what are the odds that those two pieces would ever be together again? Remember, half a mile apart, one two feet underground in my backyard, the other buried along the railroad tracks, AND, having been so since the 1930s. Pretty cool, huh? I still have the first piece, but the other one vanished for some reason. But I swear this really happened. Oh, the reason for the difference of the flowers was there were three different kinds of flowers relating to California on the plate.

I just found this one. I watched a newer one earlier today. At 1:12 when you have found the Gobby there is what looks to be a coin at the top left of your hand. You can see it several times.I enjoy watching you two. When you're swirling the large marble a tiny flash appears off it.

You could’ve used that little tiny bottle that had three sides of glass. The top was still on it. It would’ve worked for an outdoor light on one of the dollhouses. Keep that in mind.
I am no expert but I’m remembering something like carnivalware that was made from a white opal lookig glass. I remember seeing a piece that was shaped like a frilly little basket that you’d put on your dressing table with little flowers. The glass has as you described a clear quality with white as the main element. Then there were tiny swirls o blue and yellow that gave it that opal quality. Nice video as always.
Hi ladies a lovely muddy lark . my great grandfather worked for another Nepicar near Wrotham ( pronounced route ham)brewery , run by a Mr w Morgan, he later ran the Good intent pub at pizien well, another of your larking spots. I think the old pub is now a cottage now 😂

If the marble turns orange when held up to the light it is opalescent glass. The yellow might be Uranium content, it may glow bright green under UV light.
Every time I watch your video's, i can hear my late father used to say to us x5 sisters and a brother " when in town keep your window down " meaning to look around all the time as you don't know what is under your feet.

I found a mourning button yesterday whilst field walking, also another glass bead to add to my collection, i also found a man in the field😂,he ended up searching with me and chatting about the things ive found and hes now thinking of getting a metal detector! Thats the first time ive found a man in the field though, you find allsorts honestly!
I was thinking about the dolls broke off leg and the Para Olympics and maybe you could find the right bit of metal and make a springy leg for a doll like the athlete's use for the races.

I think it looks more like a moonstone than an opal. Polished up, it may show more of what it is.

You could make a table with the bottle stops. Use them as legs for the table. And put something on top of the flat part.

Have you used broken doll limbs to make a sort of claw chair? Maybe a bit dark but I think it could be cool :)
2 matching doll legs painted up can be a pair of boots in a scene.
