I agree. I miss her so much. She was an angel on earth. But I know she is with Jesus. She did more to convince me that Jesus is real than any preacher. RIP Momma🙏🙏❤️
Losing Mama Joyce is a grave loss for us All. Please accept my condolences and deep appreciation for your continuing with her wonderful teaching, grace and elegance of a Loving Southern Lady. Prayers and Comfort.
Looks tasty! I grew up in Mt. Lassen area of Northern California. My mothers potato salad was based off my Dad's taste. He liked his made with miracle whip and Delmonte sweet relish. When I moved to Washington State in the early 90's I couldn't find that brand of relish and didn't care for any of the brands I tried. I did like your Mom and worked at making my own potato salad to my taste. Hers the basic way I make it now. 6-8 russet potatos cooked in salted water in their skins until fork tender. Allow to cool and peel. While the potatoes cool mix 11/2 cups Helmans mayo to 1 cup miracle whip add a slash of dill pickle juice, 1- 2 Tbs yellow mustard, 1 sweet onion finly diced, 5 dill pickles finly diced. Add the diced potatos to the dressing, mix well and add the boild eggs. I smash my cooked eggs up in my hand. The salad may need more dressing, especially the next day so plan on making a little extra. Make sure your water is good and salty when cooking your potatoes, it's how they get flavored. Adding salt to them after cooking doesn't work well.
My mom taught me to make this same potato salad except no sugar instead 2 T blsp Ketcup, and we chopped those round pickles called cucumber chips, they were sweet. I thought the mustard added a little flavor, and I have bought Watkins potato salad seasoning, it was very much the same flavor. No celery seed but I may try that.. Love your down home cooking without all the new gadgets, because I don't use them. Thank You so much.
Such a Sweetheart. You remind me of my Mummer' aka my grandmother. Just precious! Love watching you and listening to your sweet voice and laughter! Love Marshall's singing could listen to him continually! Bless you all and be safe in the name of Jesus!!!
Good old homeschool potato salad!!! So far all the recipes I have watched of yours are almost exactly the way my Grandma and Mama cooked. Thank you for your videos to you and your son!❤️❤️👍

Therefore it’s just like yours. Great minds think a like. Thank you for all you and your son do to Bring each and everyone of us joy with your recipes.
Watching her is so comforting because it reminds me when I was a little girl my mom & dad drove to Kentucky to visit some of my distant relatives. They talked like her. Thank you for your recipes.
Hi Marshall , your momma was so adorable ! What a sweetheart ! She sure knew how to cook ! I am anxious to try this potato salad . The only thing I will add is a chopped fine green onion , and a sliced thin radish to spread on the top for color ! Sending Love and prayers to you !

Delicious and we get so hungry and want to eat what you are cooking. Sadly, when I went to my local grocery a few days ago; there wasn't a bag of potatoes in the entire store.... Love you all❤.

I love stopping by to see a Momma video’! I love her laugh, her spirit. She was a wonderful woman! I make some of her dishes. Take care, Marshal, I hope dad is ok. Denise in New Jersey.
U r so sweet and I enjoy your videos. I am 78 and make mine with all u used except no relish and I add some celery and crisp bacon bits. Glad u r feeling better. Stay in and stay safe right now.
Hello Momma Joyce, I am a german woman and I make almost the same potato salad like you. Just instead of Wickles Pickle Relish (I never heard about that) I use dill pickles. And I don't add celery seeds. Interesting, isn't it? Sending love over the great pond to you Karin
I just love her personality!reminds me of my aunt that taught me a lot about cooking when I was young. We made potato salad like that the only thing we added extra with some leftover fried bacon from the morning's breakfast we would come up in the potato salad... Talk about the perfect Kick! I have people ask for potato salad every time I do a get-together of some sort. Thank you for sharing these videos they are so good to watch.
Love the recipe Momma and so happy to see you back. Glad you are feeling better. You are missed by so many when you're gone. Hope to see more of your tasty recipes!

Momma Joyce your potato salad looks delicious! I really enjoy watching you cook and I have learned a lot. I will definitely make your recipe for potato salad. Thank You From Pinole California
Would love to have a big bowl of your potato salad! After I discovered Wickles Pickl;e Relish , I love using them. They're sweet with a little devilish heat, and I add a jar of pimentos if I have them.

I luv the fact your cooking is just simple n directly for seriously eating for everyone..nothing fancy n a speciality item you have to hunt down..just good O good cooking..yesss this is good tater salad 🥰💞💯👌👍
Momma, you had me right up to the Blue Plate Mayo. I'm a Dukes only man! But, I would eat yours and like it well enough I suspect. After all, it's made with love, the prime ingredient! LOL. Keep cooking momma!
To the people who suggest sliced celery or chopped tomato, listen to Momma Joyce and just say no. Both have too much water and will make your potato salad runny. Anything with too much water will make anything with mayonnaise runny if it sits too long and you want those leftovers the next day for lunch. Take it from a Southerner; we know how to cook with mayonnaise. And on the subject of mayonnaise- don’t even think about a bait and switch with Miracle Whip. Another just say no.
Momma Joyce due to illness and family members death i havent been able to meep up with you but i come backand you did a recipe the school spaghetti. i have wanted it for a long time. Love you and God bless you and your family.
I'm so glad to see you healthy and making more videos, we all missed you. I think I'm going to make this over the weekend. I did your Mac and Cheese and it turned out really good 🧡

I add a little vinegar and curry powder to my potato salad. I also add curry powder to stuffed eggs.

Wickles is the best. Since I found it I don’t use anything else, so if there’s none in the fridge I get weird.
