Stop says the red light, go says the green Wait says the yellow light, twinkling in between. KNEEL, SAYS THE DEMON LIGHT WITH ITS EYE OF COAL SAURON KNOWS YOUR LICENSE PLATE AND STARES INTO YOUR SOUL
This song is about Gondolin, you're right, but somehow it reminds me of Numenor. "True hope lies beyond the coast", that could be the thoughts of them before they tried to get to Valinor.
It actually hit me like a hammer when I realized how this music could easily be about Elendill and the Faithfull The "Shall we dare the dragon?" verse could go along even with this video's background... Just imagine it playing as Elendil, Gil-Galad and Sauron walk towards each other, rigth at the ending of the Siege of Barad-Dur
Far, far beyond the Island We dwelt in shades of twilight Through dread and weary days Through grief and endless pain It lies unknown The land of mine A hidden gate To save us from the shadow fall The Lord of Water spoke In the silence words of wisdom I've seen the end of all Be aware the storm gets closer Mirror mirror on the wall True hope lies beyond the coast You're a damned kind can't you see That the winds will change Mirror mirror on the wall True hope lies beyond the coast You're a damned kind can't you see That tomorrow bears insanity Gone's the wisdom of a thousand years A world in fire, in chains and fear Leads me to a place so far Deep down it lies my secret vision I'll better keep it safe Shall I leave my friends alone Hidden in my twilight hall I know the world is lost in fire Sure there is no way to turn it Back to the old days Of bliss and cheerful laughter We're lost in barren lands Caught in the running flames Alone How shall we leave the lost road Time's getting short so follow me A leader's task so clearly To find a path out of the dark Mirror mirror on the wall True hope lies beyond the coast You're a damned kind can't you see That the winds will change Mirror mirror on the wall True hope lies beyond the coast You're a damned kind can't you see That the winds will change Even though The storm calmed down The bitter end Is just a matter of time Shall we dare the dragon Merciless he's poisoning our hearts Our hearts How shall we leave the lost road Time's getting short so follow me A leader's task so clearly To find a path out of the dark Mirror mirror on the wall True hope lies beyond the coast You're a damned kind can't you see That the winds will change Mirror mirror on the wall True hope lies beyond the coast You're a damned kind can't you see That the winds will change
I grew up listening to heavier shit. And different shit altogether. A lot of power metal slipped under my radar. But when I got out of the south and actually met other metalheads, I got introduced to a lot of really cool shit, metal and otherwise. But I'm rambling now. My buddy is big on deathrock, industrial, and power/folk metal. He got me into these guys immediately after I met him almost a decade ago. On an unrelated note, we live together now and ambush each other with nerf guns and bows on the regular. He'll be back from the beach tonight. I wanted to go. He was all about it last night. Think I'll get myself hyped up with some more of these guys and live up to my nickname of Legolas. Foam arrows everywhere.
The song may be about the founding of Gondolin, but outside of references to the Shadow and Ulmo, it could refer to Sauron founding Mordor as a base to launch his attacks. Of course, like Gondolin, Mordor was doomed to fall and both Turgon and Sauron refused to admit it. Of course, this is just thoughts that come about from listening to this awesome song featuring a picture of Mordor instead of Gondolin (if taking images from Lord of the Rings, Rivendell or Lothlorien might have been more appropriate).
Have to say, this song seems most likely about the sinking of Numenor. 'Hope lies beyond the coast' would reference Middle Earth and the Numenorean colonies there.
It's about Gondolin. "Lord of water spoke", Ulmo warned Turgon to escape Gondolin, for the true hope was beyond the coasts of Middle-Earth. Similarly, Gondolin was the hidden refuge for the Noldor hiding from the shadow.
I know this sounds like it's about Gondolin, but "shall we dare the dragon..." That's Nargothrond, which was also founded in secret through the visions and words of Ulmo to Finrod. It was destroyed by Glarung which used the bridge suggested to be build by Turin. "Poisoning our hearts" could be how Glarung makes Turin's sister lose her memory, marry and become impregnated by Turin and then both commit suicide after Glarung reveals the truth. For over a decade I think I may have gotten this song wrong. Does anyone know is Bling Guardian confirmed the song is about Gondolin?
How depressed do I have to get in order to enjoy candle mass? On my knees praying for a miracle? Or even worse? Haha ha. Joking but seriously... Damn that sounds so depressing... Better fly or my land sonata arctica.
@MrBobandG Umm, that IS what I have written in the video. Perhaps you should learn how to read (and spell) before you tell others to learn English, a**hole.
Anyone know of any other bands that sing about lord of the rings and not just one song but an album or two maybe even the bands whole discography is inspired by tolkien.
+Pere Elias Sabatés (06Periku) ammm no, this song is about the construction of the hidden city of gondolin. If your looking for the song that has part of the course that mandos put over the noldor race, i think you should listen to "Noldor (Dean winter Reigns)"
+Pere Elias Sabatés (06Periku) Nope. It's Lord Ulmo instructing Turgon and Finrod to construct the hidden city of Gondolin and the city of Nargothrond, respectively. Both end up contributing heavily to the overthrow of Melkor/Morgoth.
To understand heavy mithril like this, you need to read Tolkien legendarium. Silmarillion to be precise.
getjintjangd groene well mithril is quite light actually.
@@nejlaakyuz4025 But this one is quite heavy, you could even consider it a kind of heavy metal,if Mithril were to be classified as something so simple
@@nejlaakyuz4025 o
Honestly heavy mithril needs to be a genre of music for all (as there's a lot) of those songs and bands inspired by tolkiens works

I liked the song tho
PAWAAAAAAAH METAALLLL!!!! lml
to be more precise, this song speaks about the profecy on the fall of Gondolin from Silmarillion
Far, far beyond the Island
We dwelt in shades of twilight
Through dread and weary days
Through grief and endless pain
It lies unknown
The land of mine
A hidden gate
To save us from the shadow fall
The Lord of Water spoke
In the silence words of wisdom
I've seen the end of all
Be aware the storm gets closer
Mirror mirror on the wall
True hope lies beyond the coast
You're a damned kind can't you see
That the winds will change
Mirror mirror on the wall
True hope lies beyond the coast
You're a damned kind can't you see
That tomorrow bears insanity
Gone's the wisdom of a thousand years
A world in fire, in chains and fear
Leads me to a place so far
Deep down it lies my secret vision
I'll better keep it safe
Shall I leave my friends alone
Hidden in my twilight hall
I know the world is lost in fire
Sure there is no way to turn it
Back to the old days
Of bliss and cheerful laughter
We're lost in barren lands
Caught in the running flames
Alone
How shall we leave the lost road
Time's getting short so follow me
A leader's task so clearly
To find a path out of the dark
Mirror mirror on the wall
True hope lies beyond the coast
You're a damned kind can't you see
That the winds will change
Mirror mirror on the wall
True hope lies beyond the coast
You're a damned kind can't you see
That the winds will change
Even though
The storm calmed down
The bitter end
Is just a matter of time
Shall we dare the dragon
Merciless he's poisoning our hearts
Our hearts
How shall we leave the lost road
Time's getting short so follow me
A leader's task so clearly
To find a path out of the dark
Mirror mirror on the wall
True hope lies beyond the coast
You're a damned kind can't you see
That the winds will change
Mirror mirror on the wall
True hope lies beyond the coast
You're a damned kind can't you see
That the winds will change
It is actually Ulmos (The lord of waters) warning to the Noldor
I literally just learned these guys sing about Tolkiens work!! Awesomeeeeee!!!!!
Call me lame but I think this song fits the Elder Scrolls MMO perfectly.
It does too i guess,it's all medieval stories
thumbs up if u know someone who knows and likes this band

I’m not a Metal fan, but this song is the shit
Turgon was badass in battle, and morgoth always feared him, he's so fucking coll for that ;D
Not as badass as his father

This is a Turgon song.
The amazing thing with blind guardian's songs they tells very much thing about The Silmarillion without using any special words (Valinor for example)
apparently 4 people doesn't know what good music is.
WHAT A SONG¡¡¡¡
7 dwarf lords in their halls of stone disliked this
Jacob Richmond did you knew the events described on this song are much, much, older than the events of Sauron giving 7 rings to the dwarf lords?
classic
@illyricasidhe it still is and it always will be awsome
If you enjoy Blind Guardian you might also enjoy Candlemass, my favorite album of theirs is Ancient Dreams.
