Pokemon insurgence for me. They had what is effectively a regional variant of the ralts line that is electric ice type. And that thing was a monster. In late game there was a fight so tough i had to rework my entire team, and that Gardevoir was the only one who stuck around.
Even though Garde's has only modest success in the videogames, it is arguably the single most consistently great TCG Mon of all time, up there with fellow psychic Mewtwo. Almost every Garde card has been incredibly strong and multiple variants have had top level success, even winning Worlds, and that continues to this day.
Gardevoir actually does have a unique niche in Gen 9: It's one of the only users of Teleport. On top of an already stacked utility kit, a negative priority pivot that all but guarantees free entry for another Pokemon is nothing to sneeze at. Every other user of the move from Gen 8 was either cut or lost access to it going into Gen 9, with only Deoxys and the Cosmog family being reintroduced with it in the DLC. I am aware that Alomomola makes better use of Wish pivoting due to its insane HP, low Speed and access to Flip Turn, but Alomomola can be thwarted by something naturally slower than it or a move like Avalanche, while Gardevoir and its Teleport cannot, so use cases do exist.
I wish that pokémon 790 got more movepool because its one of my most top favourites, at least it has that one move you mentioned, but it isnt enough there are more moves that even fit its theme. But sadly not yet. At lest.

@@3godzilla3 Thats great, respect for you my friend. I was happy that gothitelle got focus blast in S/V maybe mystical fire or moon blast next game. I heard Black and White has good story. But I would need different gaming machine to play the game.
Honestly I'd just give Gardevoir pixelate as her hidden ability and buff her speed to 100 and it's hp to 85. She's just in such an awkward spot where she isn't fast enough to be a sweeper but isn't slow enough to take advantage of trick room
Just give it 100 speed (gallade too by proxy), give it nasty plot (as ooc as it would be) and maybe slap Queenly Majesty over Synchronize just to troll Kingambit. And lets see how many tiers it rises. Give it Quiver Dance as well if you're REALLY desperate, Mega would probably get banned.
Gardevoir is one of my favorite Pokemon and has been since childhood. I have used mega gardevoir in battles against my friends but seeing all these for gen 3 makes me wanna it in there too lol
Every time I try to use Gardevior, I am promptly reminded that if this Pokémon had only 10 more speed it would become a fantastic psuedo special wall, but the low speed stat coupled with the poor defense just makes this Pokémon awkward to use as it can be easily struck down by many physical attackers.
Its not a gardevoir video without discussing how in gen 3, magneton can be trapped in whar can be generously called "its own personal hell" for 1000 years until it is finally allowed to pass into the afterlife.
The only Gardevoir set I ever liked was Tracing Simple from a Linoone's Simple Beam, with Calm Mind, Draining Kiss, Stored Power, and Endure for proccing Salac Berry
Gen 3 OU (For me at least) Modest/Bold/Timid 252 Sp atk always. 252 Def for Bold/Modest 252 Speed for Timid Modest Trace Destiny Bond Thunderbolt Psychic Ice Punch Other options I did: Fire Punch - For Forretress/Magneton Will o Wisp - Against non-fire, non Guts physical attackers Reflect - Help itself and teammates Calm Mind - For boosting Hidden Power Grass - Rare, but for Swampert.
To be fair, the green onion is technically an early game pokemon in its og game. so it makes sense that it is kind of average compared to other choices.
I still have this Gardevoir I trained as a kid in 2005 or something along those lines. I sort of forgot about pokemon in 2005-2009 until I got platinum and found out I could transfer pokemon from Sapphire. So I did and I've been transferring her until this day. But now she is sitting in Ultra Sun cartridge because I don't want to make the jump to transferring her over to subscription based server system like poke bank. So now she is enjoying a well deserved retirement in Alola.
@@turkoositerapsidi ye it's free now that it cannot be downloaded anything as new user. anyways pokemon home (which is the new bank from my understanding) seems to still to be working on some premium plan. and I also assume it needs the switch online subscription to use. so less than ideal for storing old childhood memory like this :D

I hope old megas get rebalanced with better stat distributions so mega gardevor can take that 20 attack and put it somewhere useful. Hell I'll accept it even in defense. Also boomburst for mega gardevoir for funnies please
*'No Matter where i go. He is always there to haunt me and my one of favorite video game character. No matter what... God. Why.'* -Depi (Demonpikmin) the Lumine main
i hope they put the mega's additional base 20 attack and redistribute it to its speed moving forward, it won't be that OP knowing they keep adding so many mons like urshifu and ogerpon anyway
in pokemon xd gale of darkness she was an excellent choice in order to beat the super hard orre collosseum. she was a MUCH better choice than espeon despite her lower speed thanks to her excellent movepool. she was blessed with: -dual screens -the niche move "imprison"(which came into play in at least 2 occasions). -safeguard(which helped in the first round) also she had the niche ability trace which in some occasions allowed her to switch to water absorb flash fire and volt absorb users.
I had success with Twinkle Tackle Gardevoir in Gen 7 UU, as even though Gardevoir is neutral to Knock Off, she still does not take double base power physical moves well, especially coming off of STAB. Having a Z-Crystal kept Knock Off's damage in check and allowed Gardevoir to grab a surprise K.O. on a faster mon.
Gardevoir is definitely meant to be a starter complement on an in-game team first with competitive use a distant second. Ralts is catchable early on, fully evolves at level 30, and excellent TM compatibility.
I started playing in Gen 6 and Mega Gardevoir was everywhere. I think because of that I always associate it with being a solid competitive pokemon despite its lack of results over the years
Gardevoir has been truly good, rather than effective within a niche... in Gen 6. Megavoir is a powerful wallbreaker in Gen 6, who can also sweep when given Paralysis support.
Gardevoir is a World Champion in VGC. Psychic/Fairy is good typing, it got a good mega, it was viable on Trick Room with Iron Ball and on fast teams with Choice Scarf, and it still shows up in VGC on occasion, largely thanks to Fairy typing and Telepathy. I know this is a Smogon 6v6 singles channel, just like to add VGC context (since that's what I play). Edited to note it gets STAB Expanding Force which is also really good in doubles.
i think a nice buff for gardevoir would be getting recover so it could actually make use of teleport. going into gen 9 teleport was cut in distribution a lot so now only deoxys, cosmoem and gardevoir get it, but currently gardevoir can only get it off like once so you'd be better off using something like healing wish, explosion or memento on a different mon. with both teleport and reliable recovery it would basically be an aggressive take on defensive pivots, using a set like moonblast, wisp, recover, teleport to do big damage and spread burn, and teleport's negative priority would allow you to invest in speed to outspeed other slow/mid speed tiers while still being able to slow pivot. i don't know that it would be ou ranked or viable in this gen but it would have a very unique set of tools that i'm sure would be useful at some point
Since their stats came about pre-special/phys split (Yes, Gallade is Gen 4, but its stats are literally just a swap of Gardevoir's offensive stats). You could honestly also shift some of both of their respective lower offense stat points into their Defense and HP stats and make them fill their current speed niche but bulkier, [IE Attack for Gardevoir and Sp. Attack for Gallade.] Though, they probably would still perform better with either more speed or less speed (trick room specialization).
I just thought Gardevoir was neat because it was rare. Also, I go through the tall grass catching everything I can find, then Wally steps in the grass, gets a 2% encounter, catches it, and lords it over me for the rest of the game? Might as well have given him a Feebas while you were at it, GameFreak!
Needs a buff to speed and bulk to its base form +10hp +10 defense + 20 speed. After that, Mega Gardevoir needs its stats tweaked to be -50 attack +25 defense and +50 sp atk and + 50 spdef and +25 special defense off of base Gardevoir. This would allow it to be fast enough and specially offensive and bulky enough to maybe hold up against the power creep post mega button. The bulk in defense would prevent this proposed mega Gardevoir from being seamlessly deleted by Mega Kangaskhan Sucker Bunch or Fake Out.
Mega Gardevoir is one of my favorite mons because of how much I used her back in gen 7 1v1. Flare blitz from an adamant nature Mega Charizard X with 252 atk EVs failing to kill Mega Gardevoir then immediately dying to hyper voice/beam will never not be funny to me
@sixzero2733 I know right! That's what makes it so funny. 248 hp EVs, 176 def EVs with bold nature always guaranteed to survive a flare blitz (barring a crit) dealing max of 99.1% hp. Meanwhile, even with no sp atk investment, hyper voice does 69% (nice) minimum and charizard receives 31% recoil. So even with double min rolls, hyper voice is a guaranteed kill; hyper beam is also a guaranteed kill at full health if the opponent goes for another move instead
I was soo disappointed with Kirlia's evolution because I saw the ears of Guardvoir as it's mouth, and now you can not unsee a Horsea from hell on that wacky Gen3 design.

Gardevoir is about as much a butterfly as humans in pokemon are of the Amorphous/Humanshape egg group.
Field/Water 1 all day, baby
Gardevoir is one of my favorite Pokemon and has been since childhood. I have used mega gardevoir in battles against my friends but seeing all these for gen 3 makes me wanna it in there too lol
My favorite Poketuber talking about my favorite mon.
Great.
As a child I loved Gardevoir because it's a pretty ballerina Pokemon and I wanted to be a dancer. Then I found out what the internet does.
iirc it's also sometimes used to counter rain by tracing swift swim
It literally won 2014 Worlds-
i love gardevoir trace with Mega. sometimes you can get a boost from copying lightning rod or speed boost before going mega
I dunno nuthin about nuthin, but my knee jerk thought is that if Garde comes in and "traps" Magneton, then Magneton just kills it and looks confused
@@aprinnyonbreak1290dugtrio false flag operator
The only Gardevoir set I ever liked was Tracing Simple from a Linoone's Simple Beam, with Calm Mind, Draining Kiss, Stored Power, and Endure for proccing Salac Berry
Ah that one.
tbf this set works i would say 6 times out of 10, i tried it alot and swept alot too
Gen 3 OU (For me at least)
Modest/Bold/Timid
252 Sp atk always.
252 Def for Bold/Modest
252 Speed for Timid Modest
Trace
Destiny Bond
Thunderbolt
Psychic
Ice Punch
Other options I did:
Fire Punch - For Forretress/Magneton
Will o Wisp - Against non-fire, non Guts physical attackers
Reflect - Help itself and teammates
Calm Mind - For boosting
Hidden Power Grass - Rare, but for Swampert.
Gardevoir walked so Gallade and Iron Valiant could run.
I think Bank doesnt cost money anymore.
@@TheOzQ Pokémon home does have a free version, but its limited to one box.
Gardevoir has always been a fan favourite.
Well I myself do like pokémon 576 a lot more, in fact its my second favourite and the most favourite is 790. But maybe I am the weird one.
@@turkoositerapsidi you wouldn't be weird if you said the pokemon name like a normal person
@@bottlecap762 Okay, but its different in certain languages. Everyone may not know what the name is in English version of the game. Even if they can write and speak English.
But do you want me to write their names or was that just for something else?
I did forget to say I only considered psychic type pokémon but even then my opinion is still close to that.
I always train my Gardevoir male
Do you mean train male gardevoir? Because I dont know if I understood?
Jimothy Cool is one of the most popular TH-camrs of all time, for a variety of reasons.
I hope old megas get rebalanced with better stat distributions so mega gardevor can take that 20 attack and put it somewhere useful. Hell I'll accept it even in defense.
Also boomburst for mega gardevoir for funnies please
6:19 no way CHILDE!?

i hope they put the mega's additional base 20 attack and redistribute it to its speed moving forward, it won't be that OP knowing they keep adding so many mons like urshifu and ogerpon anyway
Gardevoir is one of the most popular Pokémon of all time
For a variety of reasons..
And when this all new psychic type released in Gen 3
It was poised to rival the many Psychc types that came before it
Like alakazam and jynx
But in competitive play,
in pokemon xd gale of darkness she was an excellent choice in order to beat the super hard orre collosseum.
she was a MUCH better choice than espeon despite her lower speed thanks to her excellent movepool.
she was blessed with:
-dual screens
-the niche move "imprison"(which came into play in at least 2 occasions).
-safeguard(which helped in the first round)
also she had the niche ability trace which in some occasions allowed her to switch to water absorb flash fire and volt absorb users.
I remember when weirdos went nuts on the internet because their Gardevoir wifu got beat around by a monke in the anime
I had success with Twinkle Tackle Gardevoir in Gen 7 UU, as even though Gardevoir is neutral to Knock Off, she still does not take double base power physical moves well, especially coming off of STAB. Having a Z-Crystal kept Knock Off's damage in check and allowed Gardevoir to grab a surprise K.O. on a faster mon.
tbh im surprised gardevoir is ranked so high in SV. With all the power creep, the RU tier is filled with huge threats
OH AN EPISODE ABOUT MY FAVOURITE POKEMON 😻😻
Gardevoir is definitely meant to be a starter complement on an in-game team first with competitive use a distant second. Ralts is catchable early on, fully evolves at level 30, and excellent TM compatibility.
I started playing in Gen 6 and Mega Gardevoir was everywhere. I think because of that I always associate it with being a solid competitive pokemon despite its lack of results over the years
A sequal vid going over Gallade would be cool to see.
To answer it yes and especially mega Gardevoir in gen 6. Pixilate combined with 165 of spe atk was NO joke
hot take: i think trace is super strong and underrated as an abillity you can do massive mindplays facing pokemon with motor drive flash fire etc
One of my core memories was swapping Starmie out against Electivire, tracing Motor Drive, immediately picking up the speed stage and sweeping.
9:22 There was a gardevoir fan honking in approval.
i'm all for it for the horse council saga twist we just received
Gardevoir has been truly good, rather than effective within a niche... in Gen 6. Megavoir is a powerful wallbreaker in Gen 6, who can also sweep when given Paralysis support.
It's funny to build her defense in the recent gens and try to use her as a Teleport pivot. She's terrible at it, sure, but it's still funny
That Taunt, Pain Split + dual STABs set on Mega Gardevoir was a cool way to shut down Blissey and stall teams.
But blissey is cute. :(
i used to think Gardevoir used to be the Friendless Alakazam, but in den 6 with Fairy Type, i found it to become it's own thing
did you draw the thumbnail? its so cute
Gardevoir is a decent Assault vest user, especially with draining kiss recovery.
Gardevoir: no cool elbow swords
Gallade: has cool elbow swords
The choice is obvious
Garde is popular for another reasons.
Jim I insist we partake in a Pokemon Trading Card Game brawl.
0:04 yeah a variety of reasons like being very Pokémon-like and being a good UU Mon in gen4
A major thing which could improve Gardevoir in future games. Give it more speed. Ditto with Gallade honestly.
0:03 for a variety of reasons
Uhhh
Yeah. I think we know some of those reasons
:P
Kirlia gets psychic so early in Ruby and Sapphire, it is an excellent choice for any play through
I just thought Gardevoir was neat because it was rare. Also, I go through the tall grass catching everything I can find, then Wally steps in the grass, gets a 2% encounter, catches it, and lords it over me for the rest of the game? Might as well have given him a Feebas while you were at it, GameFreak!
Gardevoir is rrhs favorite mon
So ive been taught so much propaganda about its viability, since she owns the discord i moderate
I SWEAR IT'S VIABLE! I SWEAR! MY FAVORITE POKÉMON!
LOOK AT GEN 4 AND 5 NU, EARLY GEN 6 OU, AND GEN 7 RU! IT'S VIABLE!
@@_RedRightHand_ cope tbh, rrh
Needs a buff to speed and bulk to its base form +10hp +10 defense + 20 speed. After that, Mega Gardevoir needs its stats tweaked to be -50 attack +25 defense and +50 sp atk and + 50 spdef and +25 special defense off of base Gardevoir. This would allow it to be fast enough and specially offensive and bulky enough to maybe hold up against the power creep post mega button. The bulk in defense would prevent this proposed mega Gardevoir from being seamlessly deleted by Mega Kangaskhan Sucker Bunch or Fake Out.
Gardevoir is very popular for one reason and one reason only
High sp.def Lum berry HP Water setup Gardevoir counters Magneton in gen3 OU, then sweeps everything
Gardevoir in PTCGP rn: God support for Mewtwo
Mega Gardevoir is one of my favorite mons because of how much I used her back in gen 7 1v1. Flare blitz from an adamant nature Mega Charizard X with 252 atk EVs failing to kill Mega Gardevoir then immediately dying to hyper voice/beam will never not be funny to me
how in the ever living fuck does a gardevoir survive that
@sixzero2733 I know right!
I think landing in RU in gen 9 is a very respectable spot considering it's track record up to now.
Gardeboir is one of the most popular pokemon of all time.
For a variety of reasons
I was soo disappointed with Kirlia's evolution because I saw the ears of Guardvoir as it's mouth, and now you can not unsee a Horsea from hell on that wacky Gen3 design.
Thank you Cool.
Who would've thought that the Embrace Pokemon might not be well suited to fighting
