I'm a huge Kelly's fan, but putting that aside and honestly, i think Kelly's version is much better than Adele's version, because both have poweful voices, but in this case, it was good for kelly to be smoother and calm, while adele's version lacks emotion. Not saying it's bad, just saying this one is better for me. Raw and pure amzing vocals from a brilliant singer!

I wrote the changes out on a tiny piece of paper just in case i would need them and we ended up not doing the song at all :/

I agree with you whole heartedly on that. Like someone stated both Adele's and this version is a little rushed and not as emotional as the original. Love both artists but certain songs are better left untouched. Plus the piano is lacking. I think it's kind of an insult to Bruce Hornsby cause that also made the song more meaningful and emotional. But that's just my opinion and people can like whichever version they want.

There are versions of everything and it stands to perfect logic that one must be better than the other, the only way that wouldn't happen is if they were exactly the same. Now of course how you determine which is better is based entirely on personal preference but phoenix5aram said they THINK Adele's version is better. Their personal preference, one they are quite entitled to voice. Don't tell them they're wrong.
