These all sound like lower budget variants of Star Ocean 3 music. Good stuff.
I still have this game and Origins. I have played through them many times and I just now realized the Valedictory Elegy is a remix of this song.
Game timeline wise, Vitriolic a Stroke would actually be a Valedictory Elegy remix though
In my opinion this sound track beats any other (including final fantasy) by a mile. It has the perfect mix of sweet melodies and rock 'n' roll. And its strange how it can fit into one game, but it sure as hell does.

His Star Ocean soundtracks differ a lot from the Tales ones though, since tehy have more of a "jazzy" side to them.
But it's true, all his Tales soundtracks use the same instruments, which is why they sound similar.
there are only a few games i play every year: baten kaitos is one of them. and the soundtrack is very nice! 5/5!

Not sure why Golden Sun died, but you can blame Namco Bandai for the lack of more Baten Kaitos stuff. I´m right there in the waiting-boat with you, but Namco has the publishing rights, and they´re not going to proceed with anything that likely won´t make a load of money. They also very recently shot down the pitch for a Xenosaga trilogy remaster for the same reason.
Badass, sounds even better than the Divine Spirit of Language.

i don't care that the gameplay is rather slow (at least when you compare it to the other big game cube rpg tales of symphonia)
when you're listening to a soundtrack like this, and i do mean the entire soundtrack, not just this piece, you'll complain that the battle and it's music DIDN'T go on forever.
at the end of my first playthrough, i had around 60 hours of gameplay, but with most sidequests unfinished or undiscovered, because i was listening to the music forever

@suiriryoku I LOVED the story! The battle system...not so much. And I do believe I got on the 2nd disc...It was after attacking this machine/iron/rusted like city, which I believe was the Empire's place...thing...I don't have the game anymore, but listening to the music makes me want to play it. *sigh* I'm so depressed now. X.X

Yes. It's shame his more "modern" works all sound the same, Look at Tales of The Abyss, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean 4 and Eternal Sonata. Most battles themes are derived from the BK ones.

Nightryderace I had exactly the same problem dude! I've tried, and I've tried.... couldn't beat those guys.. I was also underleveled.... Still an awesome game I'd like to beat sometime! Just for nostalgic reasons!
Yep, I hit that spot too and got stuck. Seems like a lot of us did! I'm ready for it this time, just got Mizuti, and she's severely under-leveled compared to everyone else. :D
