I adore the idea of like, playing with the lighting to represent where Max is during his journey through the underbelly of the city? it could be brilliant story telling to have him constantly framed in some kind of candle light, especially if Bradly is one to point it out over and over jn his mind, sort of playing into the motiff of being the light in his darkness? especially in this specific peace being like the introduction into the real depth of it. Bradly as he leans into the light centered behind Max's head but the rest of his body is mostly in the shadows with the other people at the table, aort of like a bridge between the outsider Max and the insiders with the information. Maybe thats why Max makes a deal with Bradly in the first place? He solves a problem for Bradly, and Bradly sort of chaperones him around spaces he would never be allowed in do to being a detective and slowly, no doubt through trouble and trying instances, they grow into not just needing eachother but wanting to be near each other and truly relying on one another and that slowly devlops into love. Regardless of all that, the hatching background is so gorgeous and the lighting is fantastic. love love love love!
Love the mood of the lighting. Very much gives "luxury restaurant/bar dinner" where the lights are all nice and low and warm. Reminds me of a way too expensive christmas dinner I went to a couple years ago.
I love the shapes and weight of the clothes here. The cel shading-esque coloring on the characters and painterly background makes this look like a still out of an animated movie. Love it!
In the best way possible, I want to just DEVOUR YOUR ART!!! Also I am so happy with this type of broody tone, its very noir like you said. Also if you haven't seen either movie, The Goofy Movie or An extremely Goofy Movie I highly recommend both are just fun and wholesome!
