These really do sound awesome. Solid state often claims to sound like tube, but these actually do. I would have thought they were tube if I was just listening.
Got the 100's little brother, the 112 version. All it needed was a speaker upgrade. The clean channel has a nice edge of breakup and the gain channel came alive.
Man lees has become such a great player I remember when first was watching these vids years ago he didn’t really play like this I guess when your with Pete all the time you pick up a thing or two
Orange knocks it out of the park again. I like the compressor. Not squishy and optimized for guitar as it should be. These amps sound excellent. Most people would be shocked to learn how many country players, even pros, use Orange amps for their clean to slightly dirty guitar sounds. They tend to have more mid range than most Fender amps but still sound really good. Orange was smart to add the onboard compressor knowing how popular their amps are with country and funk players. I've always loved that orange crunch sound. Just sounds so hard rock and juicy. Lots of mids and punch.
Been a while since some Orange amps have made an appearance here. Glad to see it. Great vid, great amps, and always great to see and hear some doom with Oz . 🧡
Can't have Orange amps without the Doom test! That Camera vibrato on Pete's playing is gold, the editors are killing it in the comedy department lately.
Nice to see them doing another affordable combi - an Orange Crush was my first 'proper' amp (not counting the dreaded Spider IV I had before that...) and I always thought it was really good for the price.

@@mwaythos Sleep and Electric Wizard tend to be the go to s I think if you are a rock guy, wetting your feet with bands like Witchcraft and The Sword is a good bet. And then in no time you'll be listen to Sludge Metal and Funeral Doom.
That's a knockass rig for sure ! When I had a CR120pro head I ran in to a Peavey 412 and a B+52 cabinet and it sounded really knockass but it was hurting my ears so when a friend offered me $350 for it I sold the orange and bought a Peavey USA 6534+ which for $700 is obviously a better amp than the orange but also at the same DB level 6534+ didn't hurt my rest my ears . I think it has something to do with the way tubes compress harmonics and stuff like that.
I've been using the pedal baby for years recently got the crush but been using the pedal baby again so good for my back wish they would do one with reverb and compression
Thank you for doing segments from other players with different styles. I think there’s too many times a demonstrator gets a piece of gear that isn’t their cup of tea and try and force their style on it, ultimately dismissing it. What you’ve done with Oz is given the chance for a demographic of Orange customers to feel welcomed and respected.
You're going to be seeing the O tone 40 everywhere, One of the things a lot of guitars who have modelers like myself have been looking for is a nice portable 12 X combo amp that has an FX loop for are modeler
That Gain Baby is very tempting. I'm looking for a 6505 kind of sound and this is the budget version of that. I'm wondering if it could even be used as a preamp.
there's something magical about a really well made Solid State amp. They get a really bad rep due to the massive beginner-like SS amps out there. but amps like Trace Elliot, Orange, Roland, Peavey, Sunn O))), are proof that this technology has still a lot to give us.

In short, I love class AB amps and good sounding ultra low latency gears or pedals!
Pedal Baby/Orange 2x12 Cab/Line6 Helix = Bliss. This rig can sound like any rig with any effect you would ever need. Dialing in the tone is just as much fun as playing the songs themselves. The best part is, when a new amp model is added, it's a free update. Never thought I would go digital, but here I am... These new models look great as well, just now sure how much I would benefit from m current rig.
Great Video... but I was so excited at the announcement of 2 channels.... BUT... I was excited because I wanted something to rum a stereo modeler through (line 6, QX, Tone-x ect.) and be able to run stereo. Sort of the PedalBaby version of the SD Powerstage100S... but with the great class A / AB tone that people love about the original pedal baby. I feel this misses the mark. It may sound GREAT... but there are other great SS options. BUT nothing for class AB stereo (since Mattrix is out now). I guess I'll have to continue waiting on the perfect solution.
I love Orange "clean" but I really never have much use for heavy gain. I have a little Crush 35 for a quick grab n go but I never use the dirty channel. That compressor is nice, I like the Tour Baby best but the little combo sounds great too.
Nice range...i've used Orange bass amps & cabs in the past, very good...these are good, have they made any new bass amps ? i played the now famous 200w bass head back in the '80's, as used by Bruce Foxten etc, really good bass amp...good demo guys...
Extremely cool! Orange would do well to have a comparison chart, because it's a little confusing how they differ. Particularly the Tour and Gain Babies. I'm guessing the latter is higher gain?
I was thinking the exact same but I'm still getting thru the video. The tour and the gain seem identical except for a tight switch. EDIT: The Gain one is much higher gain on the dirty channel
@@benjaminfowler4513 good to know but a bit of a monster (and it doesn't seem to come in a head which seems mad). I love my valve amps but for the wet side of the rig a analogue would be much better
A non emulated output is such a nice change, blows me away when you buy a 3000 dollar plus amp and its get a simple low pass filter on the line out that you can't turn off. Often SS amps don't like being boosted but JFETs tend act nice in that way so I wonder if they actually take pedals well, if so I could easily use the Dirty Baby. Grab something like a tone x one and a cheaper multi fx and you have a killer backup rig.
They should make a Bass Baby. Same kind of idea, maybe 300-500 watts, class A/B. I understand Orange already has solid state bass options, just an idea.
For me i think il probs stick with my pedal baby. I use my tonex pedal into it then into my cab and it does all I need it to :) I’m glad they’ve continued and developed on it though!
So what is the difference between these new baby 100 series and the Super Crush 100's aside from a few different features and lack of reverb. Just a smaller metal box rather than the OG chassis and a $599 price tag vs the supercrush $499 price? Will these be replacing the SC100?
Orange amps usually sound okay in demos, but when I try them out myself they're not even close to what I want. Unremarkable clean tones and drive tones that are... unique
Their secret weapon is their oversized V30 cabs which do sound great (like the old oversized Mesa cabs) no matter what you plug into them. I think a lot of people end up buying Orange amps because they sound great with the $2000 cab and then are disappointed when they get them home unless they own a similar big-box cab.
In your opinion, if you were going to run a modeling pedal board with patches or like an Axe Fx or something similar, would it be best to use a pedal baby or one of these units? Is there any advantage one over another?
