2002 325i I checked my Idle control valve took it out it was fine put it back in still dies after a second literally didn’t see any cracks in my boot, also bought a new mass air flow sensor that wasn’t the problem😂 my throttle body is dirty asf tho and will be trying a new one I will let yall know if my car gets up and running for anyone going through the same shjt as me.
This solved my exact issue! car wouldnt idle, unplugged the MAF and it ran smooth. at first i thought the issue was a vacuum leak , but in my case it was actually a bad mass air flow sensor. thanks for the help
Hi. Thank you for all the insightful videos, I am new to the BMW world and i am learning a lot. I have an E46 318i 2004 model, Then engine runs smooth on start up but when it warms up in a minute or two it starts shacking. After tests, it seems like its only running on cylinder 2 and 3. i installed new Bosh spark plugs. The spark plugs before any further tests and swapping were running rich (Dark black) on cylinder 1 and 3. I tested the coil packs, swapped them around and they all seem to be working fine, the problem does not travel at all. It remains on cylinder 1 and 4 i tested the injectors and swapped them around and they all seem to be working fine. The only other thing that i can think of is testing the electrical plugs which connect onto the coil packs for 1 and 4 seeing that there is no sign of electrical power going through and causing spark. Can you please tell me what else i might need to look into. Thank you for your time.
Hi great videos, can you assist, i had an eml on and it was a coil pack issue, changed coil pack plugs and now wont start. garage has managed to get it to start but its like fuel starvation. fuses etc checked new fuel in car crank and cam sensor checked still no go. really odd any thoughts thanks in advance
My 2002 bmw 325xi is doing exactly what this video explains except I can’t even pump the gas pedal it just starts an dies. Replaces the maf sensor crank sensor plugs coils an fuel pump. Please any help would be great! Would the cam sensors prevent the car from running ?
Yes, if either the intake or exhaust camshaft position sensors fail, the car will not idle (it will stall right away). Use a scantool to diagnose the trouble. Also, check the oil filter cage/basket. I had to replace mine because the spring was broken and was giving a 'vanos intake fault' code.
Thanx sir thats good video..i have problem with my 740li bmw 2013..first was knocking sound in the engine i replaced the vacume pump the noise gone..after that another problem came when i start the engine it runs few sconds and dies..i replaced mechnical high pressure fuel pump and replaced fuel pressure sensor ..but the problem remain same engine starts but goes low rpm and die..when i put more fuel hardly it starts but with high rpm and drivitation signal comes on board ..rpm goes to 1000 rpm at parking no power and spend to much fuel when driving ..can you help...please
Hey my 325i starts fine, never not started, normally starts at 1000rpm and works down to 600, but if I let it sit an hour or two, starts at 300 rpm sounds weird bit hops up to 600 like normal, Any idea what it could be?
My car starts and fires up fine but 1st few times it doesnt respond to accelerator, when I let go of key the engine turns off. After few times it starts and stay started and drives fine.. any ideas what is causing this

had something similar, try disconnecting the MAF and see if that solves it for you

@@dbranconnier1977 what would the codes be? I have the same exact problem but I have codes p0171 p0174 and p0420 all came on at once
