Transcript:
The Chozo, an advanced avian race, roamed the stars to gain and spread their knowledge. But as they began to grow old and sense the end of their kind, they created a supercomputer known as the Mother Brain to store the accumulated knowledge of the Chozo and use it to bring peace and harmony to the galaxy.
Somewhere along the way, Mother Brain determines that the Chozo are obsolete and the Space Pirates make for a better tool in her quest to restore order to the universe. Great timing, because the Space Pirates have just invaded Zebes!
Meanwhile, the Galactic Federation has just discovered Planet SR388, and on it, the powerful bioweapon created by the Chozo, the Metroid. They took these creatures aboard their ship to study, but Space Pirates overwhelmed the vessel and stole the Metroids. Commissioned by the Federation, Bounty Hunter Samus Aran is sent to Zebes where she blasts through the Space Pirate Base, defeats high-ranking pirate Kraid and Ridley, and destroys Mother Brain.
But that’s not all! Samus later finds herself battling a mutated Metroid Prime on Tallon IV, and after dealing with all that, the Galactic Federation decided enough was enough and Metroids must be eradicated. A research team was sent to SR388 to wrangle the rest of the Metroids, but they went missing. A rescue team went in… who also went missing. Then, the Federation Police… also gone and probably dead.
And with that, the Galactic Federation has once again turned to Samus Aran to exterminate the Metroid threat… but they’ve evolved into something even deadlier.

Does it count as a "natural" predator if they were genetically engineered to combat the X by the Chozo?
I recommend looking up AM2R's secret ending that was added about a year ago. It shows where the X were hiding during Metroid 2 and how it horrifically kills a Hornoad, beginning the plague.

This might be my favourite metroid game so far. It has the exploration of Super Metroid, Fusion like tight physics, and THREE DEEE!!!!!!
I'd say the physics are even tighter than in Fusion, like they were in Zero Mission.

The Chozo created the Metroids? I thought the Metroids were naturally existing creatures the Chozo discovered. If the Chozo created the Metroids, then did they do so to combat the X? Or did they create the X virus too?
Chozo made the Metroids to combat the X parasite.
The Chozo's didn't want anyone to weaponize X so that's why they made the metroids to deal with x
I know everyone gave you the answer to this but i give you the whole thing (not really...)
The Chozo created the Metroids as a biological weapon against the X because that virus was too dangerous to exist. The Chozo died and nobody was left with information regarding the X so the real purpose why the Metroids exist was forgotten. The Federation found them after a bit of time, at the same time Samus was contracted to wipe out the Space Pirates on Zebes because they were a threat to everyone else. After Samus "cleared" Zebes she was again contracted to look after the research team on SR-388 and to kill all remaining Metroids there. She killed them and returned to Federation. After that she was again send to Zebes because the space Pirates were at it again. She raided Zebes again and killed a great number of Space Pirates for good. After all that she was contracted to be the bodyguard for a research team that wanted to go to SR-388 once more and was there infected with the X parasite. She were send to the B.S.L. and there her Suit was surgically removed. She was also saved by the "last" Metroid gene but was invulnerable to ice now. From the rest of the X infected suit the SA-X formed and was raiding the B.S.L. . Samus crashed the B.S.L. along with the secret Metroid breeding program into SR-388 and destroyed the thread of the X for good but also killed every Metroid that was left.
Yeah i know that i missed something but i think that it is enough to know about the X and the Metroids.

But they did the right thing. Had pirates gone to SR388 then X would have infected them. Then become them and leave and begin infecting other worlds. X parasites not only replicated DNA and the host perfectly. They obtained knowledge and memory as well. Hence the horror of the destruction they potentially had. The only thing is sadly they could not tell the GF out of mistrust of their use of them as well as that does happen in Fusion. They even were ready to lock Samus down and confine her while they made a small visit to the B.S.L station.
At least with metroids being sorta endangered for now and SR388 being destroyed X should no longer be a threat.
This video was pretty funny and pretty cute, buuuuuut with Samus Returns being my favorite game, I have to nitpick a little.
Technically, there was only one Federation team that went, and it was the Federation Police. They were killed, but they sent back a little bit of data just in time. It was then that the Federation decided that Metroids should be exterminated and sent Samus to do the job.
Nice video though.

Video Graham Ooh pick me! I can do it! Samus is freaking out about a baby she spent like a day with because she thinks she's it's mother or something. And then she answers a distress call on a bottle ship because theming. She joins up with a team that doesn't want her to be there because she wants her former CO to forgive her for being independent. And she concludes that if she does only what he says then he'll forgive her. Also the galactic federation sent Adam's team there to find out what happened on the bottleship. But they also planted an assassin to kill anyone who found out what happened on the bottle ship, including Adam's team.
So after running around the ship accomplishing basically nothing, including pissing herself at an enemy she's killed like 6 times now, Samus discovers that the reason the galactic federation are killing their own people is because they don't want anyone knowing they're making Metroids. Because if watching the Space Pirates commit suicide this way was fun then committing suicide ourselves must be extra fun. So Samus goes to destroy sector zero but then Adam shoots her in the back for basically no reason and commits suicide himself. Because the ship was designed by monkeys and the Metroids he killed himself to stop ended up spreading anyway. So Samus tracks down the mother brain clone the galactic federation made and killed her. Just kidding, faceless GF trooper #475 killed mother brain. So Samus goes back to get Adam's helmet before the GF tries to blow her up on the ship. But Samus escapes comfortable in the knowledge that she accomplished nothing and her presence on the ship barely accounted for anything. And she drowned herself in antidepressants and tequila until she forgot the entire mission so she can still accept contracts from the people who tried to arrest and kill her twice and act surprised upon making discoveries she already knows.

Nitpicks:
The Federations guys only got _one_ metroid. The pirates then stole that one and used beta rays to duplicate it, something that metroids do that you forgot to mention. Also, the lights on the breastplate of the Power Suit is actually just one light on Samus' left. Also, the lights you used for the standard Power Suit are for the Varia Suit, and also Samus battled the Metroid Prime in the Phazon suit, which is an edgy black and red version of the Gravity Suit.
Just minor nitpicks. Otherwise really good job.

Okay so awhile back they uploaded a video to this channel talking about a pantheon that was pushed out of their country (I think by a new monotheistic religion) and fled to a neighboring country where they kidnapped the native deities already there and took there place. I think it was a dlc to another game I think was called dragon something. And yes, I am going to keep posting this until I find out. I suspect they deleted the video though.
UGH! I hate being that guy, but the errors in this bug me to death
1) The Galactic federation decided to exterminate the Metroids as a result of the Space Pirates use of them in the fall of Zebes, not because of Talon IV. Prime may not even fall into the same timeline as Metroid II, so mentioning it possibly even more meaningless.
2) The Metroids on SR388 didn't evolve. The Metroids seen in the first game are only larval stage Metroids, like a caterpillar before it turns into a deadly predatory butterfly. Alpha-Omega are merely stages of development for the Metroid. Queen Metroids are rare, and probably means that the gender ratio for Metroids isn't 1:1.
Vergalon prime was right after metroid 2 it even states in one of the logs that the pirates are regrouping and mother brain is being rebuilt
No the Prime games were after Metroid and Before Metroid 2.
thebeav currently we don't know where they are placed(if even in the same timeline) so we should just wait till prime 4 releases.
Logan smith Returns actually shows that the Prime games are part of the same universe. I won't specify what happens, but they're all canon

One thing I never understood about the Chozo is how come they "evolved" in such a way that they can't reproduce, evolution is about changing your to adapt to your surroundings isn't it? What messed up surroundings do you have that evolution tells you to breeding?
thats not really it. There are young Chozo. They were a warrior race and decided to take a step back from being the top in the galaxy...some of them did...

Thank you. I've said that I am annoyed that Nintendo still forces their games onto their platforms on Vinsause's channel and got berated for it. Sadly, I failed to explain my position well enough.
Agreed, I play on pc as its objectively the better platform. But Nintendo's exclusives have always appealed more to me than the Xbox and PlayStation ones. Even though emulation is awesome, I'd rather play modern titles right away and not a few months later.

This is a remake of Metroid 2 which takes place before fusion, it's because of the events of this game that the X parasites begin to regrow and become a problem. Basically they realized "oh shit shouldn't have killed all them metroids"

Mother Brain's origin has always been shakey with contradicting sources, and mentioning the X would be a game spoiler for Fusion.

The real question is, why does a space faring, super advanced humanity not have the capabilities to glass a planet who's only use is to house (presumably) the galaxies worst bio weapon?
It takes a lot to actually destroy a planet / wipe out all life on it. Probably cheaper to send Samus in, as well as the added benefit of less collateral damage to a foreign ecosystem. Not to mention possibly find survivors of the missing crew which came on the ships before her.
I wouldn't say worst, The Metroid do their jobs incredibly well, the problem is everyone and their mother, weaponize them.
Its more efficient that way. They can exterminate all Metroids without the fear that they left some behind. A nuclear Attack would make the Planet uninhabitable for Humans and they are unable to exterminate the surving Metroids if some were spared. Dont forget that Metroids like to mutate in the slightest environmental change. Perhaps radioation causes more deadly Metroid Forms.
It is likely against their Law to destroy an entire Planet just to eliminate one tiny Species.
Most of the Metroids are deep underground so Glassing the planet might not have been very effective.
Well, they *are* a federation. There's probably some laws in place against obliterating life-bearing planets, even ones uninhabited by intelligent life.
