It is so weird hearing GLaDOS call Wheatley by name instead of "moron", "idiot", "metal ball" ,

That's probably why the way she says his name is so funny sounding to me

She doesn't refer to him by name at any point during the portal games.
Also "Inteligence Dampening Sphere" or "him", which goes with Wheatley calling GLaDOS "her" all the time. I think the whole episode of lego dimensions is off. My head canon is that Wheatley nicknamed himself so (because he's pretty ashamed of being "dampening intelligence"), GLaDOS doesn't know about that and anyway she is pretty factual so she wouldn't acknowledge a nickname.
This is also the only game we hear GLaDOS call herself her name. When she is in the same room as Hal-9000, she says "I am a Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System."

... Okay, new head canon: GLaDOS never agreed to have that name, like the many things the scientists decided for her. Thus she never acknowledged "GLaDOS" as being her name. But she doesn't call herself Caroline either.

@@coffee-tz3lm true. If I'm not mistaken the only reason why he tried to kill her is because once he was plugged in to the mainframe some of his coding might have be reprogrammed. Like the program for the main frame that forces them to test overrides him

nah even wheatley was kinda OOC, he’s able to meet up with chell again and is completely nonchalant about it, which makes zero sense after what he said at the end of P2. they also make him rather overbearing and flippant, like they’re trying to fit him into more of an archetypal silly nuisance sidekick character

I would love to see the Lego Dimension levels remade as normal Portal levels.
Some would be impossible I think because at a couple points you have to place a portal on a moving wall which is (mostly) impossible in portal

Brilliant! I love this, I got Lego Dimensions for Christmas, and I got the Portal 2 set as well. So getting to see this scene animated was a dream come true!
Oh man, this is wonderful! It's so cool to see these scenes with the actual models of the characters. I'm amazed with how well you matched up Wheatley's movements there to his movements in the game. The set itself looks really nice, too!

I have a simple question: Do you use the IFM (Interactive Film Maker: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=340803511) or the regular Source Filmmaker? And if you use SFM, how did you get the Wheatley model into it? I also want to make animations and tried IFM and while it is pretty easy to get a model of a personality sphere loaded into a scene, it seems very hard (at least to me) to animate it, because I can find almost no documentation on the old version of SFM (which is very different from the newest one) that IFM uses. So I would really appreciate it if you could give me a quick overview of what you use to make your *AWESOME* animations. And, by the way, I know that the video is from 2016, but since it is dedicated to SFM, I thought, that this question would belong here...
I use the normal SFM; I've never used IFM. I just pulled the Core models (and all other models) straight out of the Portal 2 files using a program called GCFScape. Regular SFM now also has an official Portal DLC pack which gives you tons of models from the game for free.
You can also get Rantis' improved Core models (as well as some even higher-quality ones) on the SFM Workshop on Steam. From there it's just animating the many bones as usual. =)

I absolutely adore the way Wheatley's hovering above Chell's shoulder. Wish they could make it in original game instead of management rail. Rails are limiting!

Willing Artistic I know the exact chamber you're talking about, That one took the most time to complete. We had to hire a voice coach to help because I couldn't get the pitch right.

Oh no, Did GLaDOS boot on Legacy Mode. Oh no, the drivers for that thing does not support it. Also GLaDOS' hard drive probably does not support Legacy Mode, because of it's size, it is probably 2 petabytes.
GLaDOS' console:
Error: Can not comprehend space over 2GB
Error: Partition 1 is in a unknown format
Error: Cores cannot be read.

you should do an animation for the Cave Johnson Core.
God lego usually creates sweet video games but that one was straight-up button mashing, useless fan-service, and they even managed to make a 100% un-funny game ! Previous lego games were a great load of fun, but all the jokes in Lego dimension are flat ! They even managed to destroy Portal's humour : this segment shows it very well, weathley is not funny AT ALL, because they tried to add a parody level on something already fun before ! And the rest of the game's jokes aren't fun as well...
Also the portal pack is completed in approximately 35 minutes, and costs 30 dollars : this roughly makes 1 god damn dollar per minute ! And the worse thing about it is that Chell is useless in the rest of the game : the portal gun can only be used in the portal pack ! Damn, yes fuck me harder Lego ! Oh yes she can still smash the square button, as this is basically what you will only do during the game... That game is just pure dumb fan-service that costs a hell of a lot of money, for no fun at all.
And as lego really takes you for an open wallet, you can't walk 10 meters without facing an undestroyable wall that you can only destroy by buying a new useless character.
This really does make me sad, because lego usually manages to create great adaptations, with a great sense of humour, and gave us an amazing movie, but the cheap skylanders adaptation that is Lego dimensions just sucks.
