If I follow the wiring format used for both the male plug and the female Jack in this video will my connection work? I have one end with the male plug and the other with the female Jack. Thanks in advance.

T568B while common in places before, has been deprecated. T568B has never been valid in Canada, only T568A.

0:46 Those rubber boots get really hard over time and make it extremely difficult to remove your connector. So hard that the easily frustrated person might damage something in the connector removal. I ended up taking a razor blade to the bump protectors and cutting them all off.

The boot can be pulled back if it's really getting in the way, then reinstalled once you have successfully disconnected the cable. There are better systems for moulded cables, but the boot is your best option for making your own cables.

I think there's a diagram on the keystone, but either way it shouldn't matter as long as you do exactly the same thing on the other keystone jack. Consistency seems like the main priority.

How will you run the ethernet from the basement to the attic? Are you running it though the floor or walls? I would try and move the router to the first floor to make it easier. Is there a reason your router is in the basement? Also remember if you join my channel membership or join my patreon you get 1 tech support question per month plus other awesome benefits. Good luck and thank you for the kind comments.
