Cleaning Nikkor AI 28mm 1:3.5_______Motion Lapse film

I only make this film about this Nikkor AI 28mm 1:3.5, just to show how to open it.
There was so much fungus in this lens, that have distroy some of the lens elements. (but I will try to polish the lens elements later)
Take off the rubberband on the focus ring and then the retaining ring which is screw in the focus ring, it is REALLY THIGHT, so i went to my kitchen and found the easy opener (The white tool) then it was very much easy to unscrew.
Next: take of the name plate, then the front ring.... Don't forget the very little set screw, that have to be unscrew fully out....,
set a mark before unscrew the front ring, and a mark when it come off the thread.
AND take care when set the front on again (the aluminium thread is very soft)

Kenn Hi, thanks for your video.
Could you clean mushrooms? Is it easy to remove? Wherewith liquid recommended for cleaning?
Also, can you tell me which tool is that white device? It is very good option to unscrew! Thank you and I'm from Rota (Spain)

Hi Zdeno Ziman
On some of Nikkor lenses, the inner lenses are VERY tight when trying to disassemble them (I think they have use some kind of glue...). So, from my own experience, try to get some of those VERY sticky gloves from the hardware store, I have try it many many times without any damage so I think it will help you too.
I have not yet come across the Nikkor 28mm 1:3.5 AI-s version, but when it happen I will make a film about it.

The matte finish ring holding the front element should just screw of right? This ring is very stiff in my lens.

Did you miss cleaning the front element?

No, because the lens surface was too much destroyed, because of all the fungus tracks in the lens coating..

Oh OK you did miss it, but for a purpose. I was trying to figure that out :-)

I'm having trouble to open the front element inside, it seems very tight. How to open it? by hand twist or nail polisher?
