i have a 1979 kirby tradition (craigslist purchase $40 probably 5-10 years ago), it's in good working order but could really need to be buffed out. i also have a 1984 kirby heritage that was the vacuum my mom bought from the vacuum store used 25 years ago. it still runs but it has been used hard for decades. i have a Gsix i bought awhile back for dirt cheap too. my daily use vacuum is a sebo G1 essentials, and i use the tradition part time. i have no experience with anything older then the tradition. these are great machines on the used market but new they are just ridiculous, and the build quality has been severely cheapened in the last few years. that 561 sure is nice looking and runs fantastic, it doesn't look like you use it daily. are parts still easy to get for a unit that is that old? i think im going to do some upgrading to the tradition soon. mini emptor so i can use modern bags, for starters.
