The riff in the piano intro doesn't seem to be connected to the chorus, because the piano intro is 12 bar measure 12/8, time , while the time signanure for the song sung by the chorus is clearly 3/4. Both 6/8, 9/8, and 12/8 in writing can indeed be forced to 3/4 because the numerator can be divisible by 3, and the denominator is divisible by two. But the product will still be different..
