Dangerously cute Killdeer chick

I came across three baby Killdeer in the middle of a rural Indiana road. I briefly handled this one before releasing it back to its parents who were nearby. It felt like holding a cotton ball.

Nope! The mama and papa killers Killdeers were both right there, keeping an eye on me while I visited with their baby. 😊
