    Have had the dark horse now for three years and am very happy with them

    It would be great to compare wet weights with boots. One of my complaints with some wading boots are that the cushioning retains so much water and makes them feel like clodhoppers when climbing out of a steep bank

      This can be an issue, for sure. I can tell you the River Ops dry out pretty fast

    time for new boots. i had a pair of Korkers Bombers but they were too stiff, i walked like Frankenstein in those, i got rid of them fast for a pair of Devels Canyon i have used for 3 years now. i often walk a mile or more and i like the light weight but more support might be a good thing. you said dark horse is more comfortable? wondering if its because you were used to them or are the new boots just a bit to stiff?

    Korkers website says River Ops boots weigh 54oz per pair. Sounds like actual weight is heavier?

    Clarification please: I'm looking for a comfortable boot with a huge toe box. Comparing the River Ops to the Darkhorse, first you said the toe boxes were the same size, then you said the River Ops is way bigger. Then you said the Darkhorse is a little more comfortable. Can you please go into more detail?

      Owning both of them I can tell you they feel exactly the same aside from the riverops having a higher ankle support, it’s the same show aside from the extra reinforcement the riverops has. I can tell you 100% toe box is the same

    I'm so confused about how to wade with these boots during winter. If the water is in the 40s let's say and weather is upper 30s, how do I wear Korkers wading boots and keep my feet dry in cold weather? I have a wet suit pants and vest that i want to use in winter with Korkers wading boots. Do I find waterproof socks for winter? I know the boot will bring water in, and I assume I shouldn't be wet wading in winter.. 2nd question, I hear the soles can come off when in use on the Korkers. How often or how likely am I tobhave sole issues with Korkers? I fish in Tennessee rivers near Smokys where there are large slimy rocks, so I need something not to slip and just ordered a pair of Korkers for myself and a pair for my wife. What am I missing here?

    im in dubai and in need of a rock fishing shoe , korkers boots are the best in the market but would it be overkill for here i have my doubts lol its too hot in here , we dont use wading pants , only shorts and shirts but felt sole shoes are a must still. should i just diy attach a felt sole to my crocs for portability or better with korkers for longtime investment?
    one thing important for me is do korkers boots stink ?
    you know it gets wet and how easy to dry the boots? i have some leather boots they get wet and hell they stink a lot putting me off to use them ..
    thats my primary concern lol i can live with the heat since you can put the boots inside water..
    i will only use in saltwater btw..

      Korkers may be a little overkill for your intended purpose. They aren't felt, but the Simms Freesalt would probably be the better option.

    Would either or these hold up wading saltwaters flats?

      I suspect they would. John Skinner uses them, and he's THE MAN when it comes to salt water fishing. Check him out. I'm going to get a pair, because if they're good enough for him, they're good enough for anyone. :-)

    Which one would be better for long hikes?

    • @Tridentflyfishing
      @Tridentflyfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably the River Opts since they are light and dry out fast.

      @@TridentflyfishingDid you mean Darkhorse (as they are lighter and not as stiff) would be better for long hikes? Both dry comparably fast?

    How does the studded vibram sole compare to the studded felt?

    • @Tridentflyfishing
      @Tridentflyfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The felt offers better traction on round, slippery surfaces. The studded Vibram will be the better option for hikes and in mud.
