- In this video, we are taking the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro for a test with PSP and PS Vita emulation. We are using the latest PPSSPP emulator from the Play Store and have all games set to render at 3x resolution, and have frameskip turned off completely. As for PS Vita, we are using the latest nightly build of Vita3K downloaded directly from the Vita3K website.
The device settings are set to high-performance mode. Thanks to GoRetroid for sending me this device to have a look at.

this is what i've been waiting for
Late to the party here, but another awesome video! I kept reading comments that PSP games should have no problem, but it's just great to see how well the games are actually running (and at 3x resolution too).
The PS Vita emulation performance is impressive! I tried it on my LG G Cloud whic his vastly more expensive and the games you demo'd all ran like crap lol
It's definitely impressive, but more time is needed. There aren't any custom drivers for the Mali GPU, so that creates barriers, plus the emulator isn't super stable either.
Carbon looks sick!!
Your videos are really helping me decide if I should get the rp4. I’m really on the fence about it.
I’m really curious about Dreamcast more specifically Naomi arcade games like Dolphin blue, Rumble Fish etc.
No don't get it, get the rp4 pro instead, runs everything dreamcast and lots at 2x
Naomi should run perfectly
So good🎉😊
Was looking at the Vita3K compatibility list and only 1 game I want is playable, damnit
i have to try sf x tekken on there . still waiting for my pro to ship
I tested it as part of my device review video. It plays but has some graphical issues and some slow down. If you want to see, links in the description.
@@Restalgia many thanks for the reply. these handhelds come in handy for those long trips
Hope to see how the hatsune miku games vita's version run on rp4 pro
Glad I own a vita and an RP4.
Lucky! Still waiting on mines, ordered the day of 🤦🏼♂️
How many days the shipping take long in your order?
@@onepiece_96172 just got mines 2 days ago! Took 1 whole month and 3 weeks.
I have a dumb question: does Vita3k save the game state for you so you can return to the same point? Or when you exit the game, does it go back to the main menu?
Vika3k does not have save states at this time
@@Restalgia thanks man. So when you exit the game and come back, you're at the main menu?
@@redfoot2 yep. And then you would load a save from an in-game save point like you would on the original console
@Restalgia thanks man. Darn, makes me want to just buy it on my steamdeck then. I love my Rp4pro but long jrps work so damn well with quick resume
@Restalgia I just tried it out and it sort of has quick resume, right? It only restarts the game from the menu screen if you turn off the rp4pro or kill Vita3k right? That would work for me
Hey bro can you tell me what to get between Rp4 pro or Odin 1 pro they have same Prices
It's a good question, I key differences will be that the rp4 pro is more pocketable and easier to take with you places, in addition to being a fairly more powerful chipset.
Odin pro is a bigger screen, but I'd probably go rp4 pro
Secondhand PS Vitas are generally cheaper than a RP4pro, and once hacked can play the entire PSP library flawlessly (with the exception of a tiny number of games that have some slowdown). So if PSP/Vita is your only reason for buying a new handheld… just buy a Vita and hack it. It will be a better experience for those games.
Great video though; super appreciate getting to see the capabilities of the RP4 and what it can and can’t handle!
I agree with everything you've said. If you want a great ha dheld that covers 8/16 to ps2, this is a great option
PSP looks like crap though. Only a few games support 2x resolution, while rp4 can run all psp games scaled + other systems.
I suppose if someone's that hard up for strictly vita games, which sell around 150$ on Ebay. I'd rather RP 4 which plays like every retro console under the sun.

how to add game on psvita?
Psp is made for handheld so it should run this no problem.
Should I buy a modded vita or rp4 pro? Help please 😅
If you want to play vita games, I'd say modded vita.
I just want better graphics and to play GameCube , psp , which would handle ps2 games better?
Anyone know if Zen Pinball on Vita runs on the 4 pro?
Not compatible with the emulator yet
@@Restalgia Darn. It's listed as compatible on the Vita3k site. :(
Well, seems to me that this is the perfect emulation device up to psp or well at least to where you don't have to tinker so much.....im very sensitive to frame drops and ive been looking around for the perfect psp emulator handheld and this looks to be it.....i can live without GC or PS2...even though can handle those systems decently well from what ive seen in other vids....i really just want this thing to play my psp games perfectly.....
I have an rg405m and it struggles at times with some psp games, slight frame drops here and there and i hate that so im hoping this would be my saving grace.....
What psp games are you playing? I have a pocket 3+ and can run a lot of games at like 5x or more resolution. And other graphics enhancements on top of that. This should easily handle anything on psp as the previous generation already did from my experience
@@DouglasThompson
I wanna avoid having to tinker with graphics settings, I know that t618 processors can handle PSP but any bit of frame drop just ruins the experience for me....
OlliOlli2 my beloved
this is Jack from Carpuride , we sent you a sample device in Aug 2023 , now it is Feb 2024 , you did not make a video for it

Could you point me to a site for the roms? If you can’t, could you give me a hint lol

Yeah you gotta do a live vita run ,its to beautiful not to..
How did you get Playstation All stars to work without crashing?
It does randomly crash, but usually after 15-20 mins of game play. I did see on the latest build there are some crash fixes on android 14
"PS Vita Emulator Settings"
- Doesn't mention a single one of the settings.
Everything is 100 percent set to default. 1x resolution, no custom drivers. That's my bad...
