It's so touching for someone that grew up in Shanghai to see Yao Ming and Liu Wei playing together in one NBA game in Shanghai, though on different teams. I can so relate to the energy that the fans had back then. They were both truly legends of the city.
Hey Allen, I know I’m very late but I do strongly believe I saw you in shanghai judging by your profile picture. I saw you with a camera. And really appreciate what you did here with yao. When I lived in China my father got into a car wreck while driving a woman to a hospital in labor. Everybody was ok. But when he got into an accident a big suv stopped on the side of the road and none other than Yao Ming jumped out of it to come and help. He drove my dad and that woman all the way to a hospital. While calming the woman the whole time. Truly a great man.
I saw this video on the news....a decade later I visited China, because of my seven foot center. The land was beautiful. I still represent hebei Province....for life.
@@AllenRReid That's awesome. I lived there from 2004 to 2011. I was not a Rockets fan (Pistons rather) but I did watch Rockets games on local TV. And Juwon Howard is the coach of my local college team. I liked the video because I recognize many things about China that I experienced.

Thanks for putting this up. Nice. I'm a 90s kid from China. I only saw him on TV when I went to Singapore in 2000.
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for uploading this.

Missing this old times where China and US admire each other…
I'm guessing the Rockets are the most hated NBA team there now?

I lived in Shanghai during the entire time that Yao played in the NBA. I even was on the same flight with him. He is a sports god in China.
I shot his games here in Houston during his career and was with him for this trip to Shanghai and Beijing and got to witness that first hand.

Thank you.
Great documentary and I missed watching Yao Ming play
Thanks, Dan. Watching Yao play during his time in Houston was a great career highlight for me.
If Chinese government can give him more time to rest, his career won’t end that quick... this guy was really good
Why Chinese government involved again???? Why why why😂😂😂
