Someone said once that they were only around 40% as good as they used to be, but that 40% was better than most people will ever be. I would have loved to have seen any one of them in concert at any age.
A gift to the world 🌎the rat pack DEAN THANKYOU FOR ALL YOU DID TO MAKE PEOPLE FEEL GOOD 👍😀THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER DEAN MARTIN WHAT A GREAT ITALIAN. AMERICAN!!!!
I can't stand when people think Dean was drunk on stage. He was so particular about singing his songs just right, there's no way he could drink that much. He was also very passionate about rehearsing, just not with other people. That's what he told an interviewer for the BBC
I saw him in Vegas at the MGM in and about 1985 great show but the years of cigarettes were taking its toll on him . The man was so cool you needed a coat to see him. Miss you pallie.
I love Dean, but I have to agree with you...he was really showing his age at this point, like Willie Mays at the end of his career dropping fly balls in center field...I prefer to remember them both at the top of their glorious careers..
Ole Dino could light up an audience. His marvelous voice and humor were phenomenal. I even have an oil painting of him a college girl did for me when I was a senior at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. in the sixties and have turned down $500.00 for it in the eighties. She was an art student at Wesleyan College, also in Macon.
His Aging cannot be hidden, his sparkle is gone and he’s slow, but still even at this stage he’s wonderful, I saw the last photos of him brmefitexhe passed and wished they didn’t show them. He was going blind abd im sure didn’t realize how bad he looked, it would have broke his heart again, he knew he was cool and to see the loss of it would have hum him so much more, since he was one of a kind, ill always love him till my death and can’t think or see anymore, Jesus will be resserect if us and we will see him young and healthy again along with us , we will have the beauty of health and youth again and his son will be back with him , god bless and may Jesus return soon, the world is crying, we need him
When you say he's 'pissed" do you mean drunk? No way. Dean never touched a drop when performing. Here you see a man who had lost his will to perform and give it his all. He never recovered from the death of his son, Dino Jr. He hadn't changed his act since the 1960's and so it lost it's freshness. I feel sorry for him at this stage of his career. His heart just wasn't in it like it was up to the early 1980's.
TOTALLY! People also say he was threw the lit cigarette into the audience, which was not true, he ran over threw it on the floor and made the please put it out motion.
Greg Manson Please try not to be so judgemental and have some sympathy. This was just a few months after Dean Paul’s tragic death, and poor Dean was still grieving for his son. During my life I have lost both my parents, and that was hard enough, but to lose a child is just unimaginable ( as Dean said in one interview later that year; “When it hits home, its terrible. It eats you up”). Although he had good intentions, Frank should never have dragged Dean out on that last road tour, much less expect him to party every night after the show like it was still the 1960s, and that dreadful plane crash had never happened. In fact, not long after Dean actually retired for good and began his own long, slow decline until he too passed away in 1995.
He didn’t want to do these shows. It was not that long after His son died. Sinatra thought it would help him. It made him worse. And he wasn’t drunk he was an actor who was good at making you think he was drunk. That’s what an actor does.
Ali Khorshidnam I think that at this time in his life Dean was on strong painkillers. His daughter Deana wrote about it in her book, how one time when she was visiting him and she had a headache. He gave her just one of his Percodan ( they were prescription tablets, the same kind that caused Jerry so many problems because it wasn’t realised at the time that they were very addictive). Apparently she said that it made her so woozy that she was afraid of driving home. So if just ONE pill had that’s effect on her, and Dean was taking them regularly... plus of course the grief and mourning he was still going through after losing Dean Paul, it’s no wonder poor Dean wasn’t at his best. As Nancy Sinatra said in one interview; “It was easy to understand, but very hard to watch.”
@@lindashelley3635 Thank you so much for the story! Just learned something new about this wonderful man! Anyway, He was allowed to DO ANYTHING he wants in my opinion! He was a treasure!

Jerry always said Dean was a master at everything!Loved Deansince i was 5 yearsold. Now 63. He had the smoothest voice and the most addictive smile.
Someone said once that they were only around 40% as good as they used to be, but that 40% was better than most people will ever be.
I would have loved to have seen any one of them in concert at any age.
At this point in his life, Dean was still 100% better than any singer that takes the stage in 2020

I watched that interview or one similar to it, and was amazed at how the reporter changed his tune after Dean set him straight.
I saw him in Vegas at the MGM in and about 1985 great show but the years of cigarettes were taking its toll on him . The man was so cool you needed a coat to see him. Miss you pallie.
Sad to see him so old. Still goofing around with 120% King of Cool charm. A rat pack original.
I love Dean, but I have to agree with you...he was really showing his age at this point, like Willie Mays at the end of his career dropping fly balls in center field...I prefer to remember them both at the top of their glorious careers..

Ci ha provato, ci ha messo tutto l’impegno possibile, ma ha subito una tragedia troppo grande. Ha tutto il mio rispetto e amore. ❤️
I regret do much for his loss!

If he smoked so much all his life, it's obvious he showed it in his singing.
He only drank apple juice on stage as it was the same colour as whisky.
TOTALLY! People also say he was threw the lit cigarette into the audience, which was not true, he ran over threw it on the floor and made the please put it out motion.
lol, this performance was funny as hell
🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👏👏👏👏❤️
He made Las Vegas what it is today!!!!!!
His Spirit His Loss His Son , was too much to bare
I saw Dean in Vegas in 1985, shook his hand, by 1988 just shadow of his former self. So sad. :(

He didn’t actually drink he only drank at home
So he is acting drunk
