So what happens when you graph this function? You get two hyperboloid curves where x= minus 0.5 is the asymptote: the two curves have branches that approach but never reach an x- value of -0.5.

14 minutes? What is the domain? The domain is the range where the function exists. So 2x+1 different from 0 , so x different from -1/2. So the domain is all the real numbers but -1/2. Too much talking

This is equivalent to 4x^2+12x-43=0. The domain is all real numbers.
