Awesome version! My son's music tutor in college here in Swindon, Wiltshire (the home of our beloved XTC) is Andy Partridge's producer! How cool is that?! Ladies and gentlemen I give you Mr Stu Rowe....who's brother plays keys for Noel Gallagher no less! We've a lot of music talent here in Swindon!
you must be referring to Mike Rowe who "plays keys"...Mike was in Sheryl Crow's Band so he and 2 members of this tribute gig (Peter Stroud and Tim Smith) all used to play together in Sheryl....I am Peter's wife and we adore Mikey! (and Caroline)
You also have a lot of roundabouts, I worked in your lovely town in the 80's when it was the fastest growing town in Europe, I have been fans since the 70's
And to be really grammatically correct, you should say MUSICAL talent here in Swindon. don't forget the AL. Maybe you're my long lost pal? just don't call me Betty. OK Al ?
Wow! from the land of REM and the B-52's comes an XTC tribute band. Go figure. I've seen all of your covers. You guy certainly do justice to one of the all time most underrated bands. Bless you all.
Damm ... this is as close as one can get to here XTC live in the 21st Century. I've been in many cover bands and it's always been a fantasy of mine to cover XTC but who has the guts??? These guys actually do and they da a pretty dam good job at that .. well done!
oh my god , i listened to this twice and i cant believe how beautiful all the members play, and the vocals harmonies are extraordinary, plus the sound levels are great , thumbs up bassman
I'm a very late to the party but I have to say it's great knowing guys your age dig XTC. The music was spot on.Dont know if you're still around in 2019 but I will check
Hey Mitchell, they stopped doing these fun gigs quite a few years ago just from being too busy with each of their other professional gigs to continue doing it any longer - but it sure was a blast the couple of years we were graced with these shows.
@@LynnBerry Well I am one of the few lucky ones who got to see XTC Live. It would be great today if a group of people could really nail XTC and do a world tour like Marc Martel has done for Freddie Mercury. XTC really cheated us just when they were hitting their peak. I was getting excited about the English Settlement tour and then you know who bailed.
Excellent cover of a deceptively complex tune. Harmonies were top notch. Beato breaks this song down perfectly and there's a wonderful Joe Jackson cover of it here on YT. Anyway, its years later and ppl are still commenting on this!
I thought this was going to suck but as soon as I some of the names in the group and heard those guitars kick in I knew I was wrong. Tough song. Great job, great vocals, having a Nick Lowe haircut makes it even better
Ballsy, ballsy…ballsy….a great XTC cover band. Who the F**K but someone incredibly ballsy would do this? Excellent job, mates! The Dukes of Swindon would be rosy-cheeked...
In the US of A., of all bloody places inthe world this would be my last guess as they are english. And they are not bad. Bloody marvelous. Swindon's Boys would be proud.
Wish I could have been there. You guys are great! This is not an easy song. Wish the bass player was more visible--that's a heck of a melodic bass part.
The original lead vocal wasn't using a chorus effect but rather 3 separate vocal takes split left, right and center. The fattening was from each performance being every so slightly different. That in itself is a work of art.
As much as I dislike the state of Georgia for their politics for some reason they keep producing talented musicians and this band is one of them! REM & B-52's along with them.
no this tribute band was just put together for a few gigs and always got a great reception - but then they got busy with different projects and it sorta fell to the wayside. too bad, eh?
Respectfully Wes, the kick drum is dead wrong. Its nitt-picky, I know. But, the jangly rickenbacker sounds thoroughly off without the 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2 kick drum pattern. I'm an MoS snob, clearly...but, if you really dig into the mix on the CD you'll hear what I'm talking about, and Andy's genius lives on...:P

I say fans because there are two of me, one stuck in 1985 and my present persona as a teacher, just needed to clear that up.
And to be really grammatically correct, you should say MUSICAL talent here in Swindon. don't forget the AL. Maybe you're my long lost pal? just don't call me Betty. OK Al ?
@@LynnBerry I would rather say WITH Sheryl. Saying playing IN HER is a bit risque. But if true, LUCKY GUYS.
Wow! from the land of REM and the B-52's comes an XTC tribute band. Go figure. I've seen all of your covers. You guy certainly do justice to one of the all time most underrated bands. Bless you all.
Tambourine guy is keeping things afloat with spot on backup vocals.
Damm ... this is as close as one can get to here XTC live in the 21st Century. I've been in many cover bands and it's always been a fantasy of mine to cover XTC but who has the guts??? These guys actually do and they da a pretty dam good job at that .. well done!

Well done, Nigels! Much approval from a big XTC fan.
Fandabidosi! Well done guys, brilliant, England approves
I'm a very late to the party but I have to say it's great knowing guys your age dig XTC. The music was spot on.Dont know if you're still around in 2019 but I will check

Absolutely fantastic cover of one of my favorite XTC tunes!
This is absolutely unreal! I was NOT expecting it to be this good. Wow.
Peter Stroud has the perfect tone on that 660/12. Wonderful.

Wow you guys sound amazing!!!
Very very cool!
great work, looks like cool club
Great job, and speaking as a Bassist...NOT the easiest song to play let alone play LIVE. ;)
Dave Gregory's trib band playing Mayor: th-cam.com/video/y-Dr8woWj_4/w-d-xo.html
It's pretty easy if you only play 1/5 of the notes.
Excellent job one and all! Thanks for this
Great version 👌..
flawless drums
Fantastic
This would be a dream gig.
Backup dude is mind blowing
Great live version guys.
Gerard (Belfast)
Great cover!
Superb. Well done!
Outstanding cover. Great sound

Anyway, its years later and ppl are still commenting on this!

NZ here, loving it
Great !!!!
Well done guys!
I thought this was going to suck but as soon as I some of the names in the group and heard those guitars kick in I knew I was wrong. Tough song. Great job, great vocals, having a Nick Lowe haircut makes it even better
Beautiful.
Lovely rendition Nigels, much appreciated.
Great job!
Nice job lads!
Just what I wished for
Godamn. Good cover.
Oh My ! !
Brilliant. That lead singer certainly has a Nick Lowe thing going.
sure does, it's the haircut I noticed... it's Tim Smith from Jellyfish, he's brilliant
I’m loving seeing you Jellyfish aficionados! They were sooo good .... Tim rocks.
Good version and the guy can REALLY sing!!!!
fucking fantastic! atlanta seems a long way removed from wiltshire, but this is brilliant!
OMG - brilliant!
well done. tx
I know Andy did that song, but... If I saw this band for the first time doing this song, I'd say WOW!!!
Damn good cover!
Great, great cover.
DAMN! SPOTTHEHELLON!!!!!
Huge XTC and you guys fucking nailed this cover!
GOD I wish! I’m piss poor at instruments (ADHD lol) but this is one of my favorite XTC songs and I’d love to show it appreciation in the best way.
Coolest version I’ve heard!
Ballsy, ballsy…ballsy….a great XTC cover band. Who the F**K but someone incredibly ballsy would do this? Excellent job, mates! The Dukes of Swindon would be rosy-cheeked...
たまらんっ!!!! 素晴らしいっ!!!! XTCは全国共通でみんなを幸せにしてくれますねっ!!!! 世界平和願ってますー!
Jesus, that was goddamn flawless. Rad!
In the US of A., of all bloody places inthe world this would be my last guess as they are english. And they are not bad. Bloody marvelous. Swindon's Boys would be proud.
I am one of the few Americans that have been listening to this band for the last 40 years great job keep going
Excellent. But don't forget that the star in this song is the bass.
Not sure which I like better, the name of your band or your great cover of this song. Thanks for the top-notch entertainment!
Great job- hard song to do live
Thanks. This made my day.
Wish I could have been there. You guys are great! This is not an easy song. Wish the bass player was more visible--that's a heck of a melodic bass part.
Check out Tim's new band the lickerish Quartet, very amazing band
Impressed then I read in the comments they are American. WTF. Would love to see them live
Great performance. I have to comment that the name of your group/project is genius.
You guys are fucking good!
Okay, now the tambourine and bass players SWAP!!
Very Good!とても楽しそう!
Wasn't expecting this to be so good. Good harmonizing, background singers are uncanny at times.
i am a fuckin fan from italian province
Just needs a tiny bit of chorus on the vocals. And you know the bassist was waiting all night for this number to come up. : ) Great cover.
The original lead vocal wasn't using a chorus effect but rather 3 separate vocal takes split left, right and center. The fattening was from each performance being every so slightly different. That in itself is a work of art.

xoxxobob Quite funny since stipe used to name drop xtc as one of his favorite bands, the man always had good taste.
+Jack Edge R.E.M. opened for XTC once in 1981.
yeah andy told the story with bbc wiltshire I live in swindon it was brilliant, they played with the replacements as well
Tambourine player just killing those backup and harmony vocals
WOW, Harry Potter on tambourine....who knew!
I SEE TIM SMITH FROM JELLYFISH!!!!!
Beato brought me here too.
Does Andy Partridge know you exist? He should, and I'm sure he would be supportive.
Needs more tamborine! Its integral to the song
More cowbell.
wheres the bass ?
That's a great band. Brilliant cover. So strange to hear an American band play XTC.
Nice...looks like I'm really late to the party on this band, but are they still around?
no this tribute band was just put together for a few gigs and always got a great reception - but then they got busy with different projects and it sorta fell to the wayside. too bad, eh?
Hey Geoff! How's the restaurant? From a Palos Verdes and Northwestern friend!
Rick Beato sent me.
タンバリンの人、雰囲気も声もアンディ先生にめっちゃ似てる。

very good, vocals were great. I think the bass player needs to learn the song better
Kinda reminds me of Nick... Just saying!
Super complicated song…few likes. Modern music appreciation…
That’s a very bad pun
