Yeah the best part is that it wasn't just some kind of polite chuckle. Cleese was rocking his chair because of his belly fluctuations and his head was turning red. It was a real gut busting laugh.

I think the best anti-PC routine I ever saw was by a minor comic whose name I can no longer recall. He started to make some racial jokes about blacks and Mexicans, and Asians and so forth, to a mostly white audience, but he assured the audience it was OK, because he was saving the best jokes for last and they would be white jokes. And when he got through with all of them he said, "And here's the white joke - the joke's on you because I don't have any white jokes, and now you're all going to squirming with guilt for laughing at all those OTHER jokes!"

Some of Bill's comments are deliberately abrasive, some seem to be deliberately aimed at insulting people of the Christian faith (something he also does to Muslims, to give him his due), many of his stances are considered to be very much in a liberal vein and for a while he was seen as a cheerleader for the Left; something that as our current administration and culture seems to be going further and further into the rabbit hole of outright insanity, he is doing less and less of. As with all things, there are some things that he says that I can agree with, and some I don't. It's not an either-or, "for him or against him" partisan thing.

False equivalency. 84% of Egyptian Muslims believe leaving the religion should be punishable by death. 86% in Jordan, 76% in Pakistan, 51% in Nigeria, 28% in Indonesia. The numbers are almost identical for Muslims who believes gays should be killed and women should be stoned for adultery. You don’t find numbers anywhere NEAR these among Christian groups. Size does matter.
