If anyone is going to be using a store bought curry paste, I HIGHLY recommend you get the Mae Ploy brand. It's more authentic and tastes so much more like the real thing. It can be found in most asian grocery stores and there's many different flavors to choose from
I agree! That's why I had to add my chili sauce, garlic and all in this recipe to pump up the flavor. Only reason I used this brand, so people don't have to drive 15 hours to Asian grocery store but I guess it's kinda pointless if they don't have kaffir lime leaf... 🤷🏻♀️
lady4real75 From my experience, I’ve found that the green curry paste is the spiciest but you don’t need much and you can always add a little at a time until the flavor is right for you
Ok, here is my confession…. I am a criminal of murdering the name of “Pad Prik King” and “Kaffir” Lime leaf… please give mercy. Mama Mia Mama Mia Get the written recipe Here seonkyounglongest.com/pad-prik-king and my EASY Asian Mother Chili Sauce recipe is here! th-cam.com/video/fi1cNQdhHWU/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for cooking with humor and being very clear about the ingredients. As an American, knowing what can work when the more authentic ingredients aren't available is a real boon. Thank you for many hours of great instruction and wonderful food!
You are my fav...I made your Korean fried chicken with your red sauce OFF THE HOOK my husband fell in love with it and insist that I put it in rotation on our menu...Lololol..will be making this this weekend...thanks my new found friemd
Wow i dearly love Thai food and the peppers so i cooked this just now. It is delicious and very spicy the way i like it. I spent two years in Thailand several years ago and i miss the Country as well as the Thai people. If i could i would live in your Country for the rest of my life. Such beautiful people and great food. My favorite dish is pot prik by capow. I problhly didn't spell it right but its chopped up beef with green beans and lots of green Thai peppers along with Thai basil and lots of garlic. Thank you young lady.
I went to a Thai restaurant while on vacation. And I ate this for 4 days straight. I was literally so obsessed that I wanted to prepare it at home.. But I didn't know how.. BUT NOW I KNOW! Thank you so much Flower Pig, you just literally saved my life. 😊😂
OMG this is the best ...i've seen so many VDO of yours........i totally LOVE this one, you are so humble, so natural, have fun with what you love to do " be who you really are" i love that so much
I always look forward to your videos each week watching all these recipes gets me all inspired to try newer things with my cooking. Asian food with a latino twist or exactly how you did them :)
I just wanted to say, I made this a while back, it was amazing. I didn't realize how amazing until I tried to have it from a local place. This version was so much more flavorful, the meat was much more tender. If i'd ever had the restaurant version first I'd have never tried to make this one as I'd not have 'liked it'.
I probably eat this dish once every two weeks (in a restaurant called ข้าวผัดกุ้ง in ราชบุรี) It is UNBELIEVABLE how tasty this dish is. You have to add a fried egg on top though! Great execution, truly you're a good cook.
Im in love with your channel. I didnt do much cooking with my grandma when she was around so I never learned to cook much asian food, so thank you so much for doing this! My brother an I are super excited to try some of your recipes!
Just tried your wonton recipe yesterday and it was the best ! Definitely gonna try this one next =D Your recipe and tips always works and taste super good
I have made this over and over again with every type of protein. It just get's better and better, thank you for the recipe! It is now a staple in my home. :)

YESSSS ALL the curry paste from scratch please! Also can you PLEASE make a video how to make more sauces from scratch like gochujang, etc? THANK YOU for another great video!!!
I just made this and it came out delicious, thank you! Is there an easy way to break down palm sugar? I hammered with end of knife and then broke it down more once I added. Thank you for sharing your recipe. The ribeye was so tender.... YUM!
I'm here cus spicy Pad prik king is my faveeee thai food too. I think it's about time I need to learn how to make this at home. the beef looks yummy I always order chicken.
It already made me hungry, and then the music starts, and somehow, that made me want to cook it even more. Guess I'm going to the international grocery store tomorrow for ingredients.
"I just want to chew, chew, swallow, swallow that breathing is just waste of time"lol. That's why i really like u alot. There is no such time watching without salivating
Great recipe, I’m going to give this a go with chicken thighs. Pad Prik Khing is also my favourite Thai dish, but I usually have it with crispy pork belly!
I just love your videos and recipes! Your positive attitude and awesome smile are contagious! So glad I found your channel a little over a year ago. Such an inspiration! 💓🍜
There is actually a Chinese dish--string beans and beef stir fry--that is similar to this dish (minus the all the spices LOL) Maybe you should try making that sometime!
Pad Prik King Curry is one of my favorite Thai dishes!! If it helps, to pronounce kaffir it’s like “ka-fear”. Who knew that my parents living in Thailand for many years would come in handy in my lifetime! ;)
Hi Seonkgyoung! I tried your Hot and sour soup and and bao recipes! They turned out amazing, considering it was the first time properly cooked by myself! This looks great, I’ll give it a try using chicken. Just a suggestion: could you please start a budget-friendly series for university/ college students😫 Some recipes that are quick or can be pre-prepared and stored for a few days for us busy, tired (and lazy) kids?!😂 Thank you so much! You look gorgeous by the way.
I LOVE PAD PRIK KING! ...AMD THANKS TO YOU, I KNOW HOW TO MAKE THAT GOOD FOOD!!! AGAIN, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Sorry for yelling...lol. but yes, that is SOOOOO good.
i love this recipe ! my mom used to make it all the time and now i can make it for her~ i think she and my ยาย normally use the Mae Ploy brand curry paste, but i’m sure it’ll be easy to adjust ☺️ excited to make a family favorite !!
I cook this and I had to force my grocery to stock some items--they never heard of them (long green beans for one). I also add red thai whole chili peppers on top of red curry paste and scorch my beef at highest flame.

is it spicy?

mae ploy isnt that authentic althoug its close. Mae Sri is a better brand
I don’t like Mae ploy. It lacks flavor. I like Arroy D but harder to find.

I just made this for dinner. Followed your recipe. It was tasty. Had a hint of coconut flavor, I’m not sure why? Maybe the palm sugar?

One of my favorite stir fries! I especially love it with an addition of sliced bell peppers, mushrooms and peanuts or cashews 😛

You are delightful and so are your recipes!
Kaffir lime leaves come frozen in many asian stores and they last a while! definitely recommend buying them
They also come dry in bags. My Thai grocer very much prefers dry ones to frozen. It's a better flavor.
So good! 😋 love your sense of humor! Thank you!
Seonkyoung 101, garlic+onions+fish sauce+main dish= amazing Asian food every time hahaha 😂💚

Yew,a I like Mae Ploy brand better too, but wanted to use the jar I saw the most in regular grocery store!
I cook this and I had to force my grocery to stock some items--they never heard of them (long green beans for one). I also add red thai whole chili peppers on top of red curry paste and scorch my beef at highest flame.
You butchering that lime leaf name is the mood 😍
