#36 - We Have a FLOOR Again - Installing More Joists & Getting to Work on the Wonky Stone Doorway

We're back...and Michael's straight to work fitting more joists and clearing more land. Things really start to come together this week as he adds OSB boards to some of the joists. He also starts work on the wonky doorway which appears to have some very questionable lintels! And, watch as he uncovers our secret garden across the road...and gets a visit from a very special guest!

We're Michael & Becci (the humans) and Tilly (sassy English tortoiseshell cat), Alfie and Anoushka (Portuguese rescue dogs). After four years in Portugal and numerous dreams about renovating our own property, we've taken the plunge and are renovating a schist stone house and its outbuildings in Figueiró dos Vinhos. We're doing most of the work ourselves (or... Michael is!) and we'll be stepping back in time to create a character property with as many original features and antiques as possible.

In Portugal zijn ze erg bang voor grote bosbranden. Je bent verplicht om te maaien en zogenaamde vuur gangen te maken zodat het vuur kan doven uit zichzelf. Je hebt de pech dat de waterleiding kapot is,daarvan profiteert het onkruid en de muggen.Leuk dat je de flox planten liet staan.
Ik vond dat je de balken snel op hun plaats had.

absolutely love the meticulous way you embrace every little (or ginormous) job!! Very satisfying to see the results .I feel sorry for the bees and bugs that lost all the flowers and stuff but the land looks much nicer once you cleared it!! Good job. Keep them coming!

I like the way you work. Dropping the rubbel into a wheel barrow, most people kust dump it on the grouwnd and have to showel it up later. I am a firm believer of efficiënt working and having lees work after. Great job.
