Although he had limited screentime to play this character, i do appreciate Grant Gustin's performance of him playing a very dark and broken version of Barry Allen
It took the Flash an entire season to finish this race. The season 2 finale was called “The Race of His Life” and the season 3 finale was called “Finish Line”. 😂
After Iris dies Future Barry creates time remnants to fight savitar. Savitar kills all but one of them and then team flash treat the surviving remnant poorly. This sets the survivor on the path to becoming savitar. Classic bootstrap paradox. But with Iris not dying it breaks this cycle thus savitar won't be created.
Yeah but Savitar could of just killed Iris after instead. And then Barry would create the remnants again or go dark himself. She meant with like Barry saying “iris dying now won’t save him”. Like why not?
Damien's Gamin' he knew that back in the end of episode 20, and the timeline didn’t change. It was explained that not making time remnants wouldn’t make a difference in ep21
It's like the easter egg for mob of the dead in black ops zombies pop goes the weasel. It's a map of alcatraz that is an infinite loop of 4 mobsters (Billy handsome, Sal deluca, albert Arlington and Finn O'leary) who went to prison for bank heist they did in the 30's, the warden of the jail hears a voice from an opthican (aka the shadow man, but we don't learn the shadow man is an opthican until revelations) the shadowman grants the warden immortality by trapping the wardens soul and the 4 mobsters souls in a pocket dimension known as the alcatraz pocket dimension. In the dimension is where the maps alcatraz, mob of the dead and blood of the dead occur. (Although blood of the dead is more richtofen than the mobsters) but I digress. You see the mobsters ultimately fight zombies and try to make an escape plan to escape alcatraz, after every failed attempt they make a new one. It isnt until Albert aka the weasel, comes up with idea of a makeshift plane called icarus. At some point during these loops they make the plane and attempt to leave but since they don't know they are in a pocket dimension and are trapped they inevitably fail and crash on the golden gate bridge to which the warden then teleports them back to the prison and kills them by electric chairs, which thus loops the cycle and eventually they realize they are trapped. It isnt until someone's breaks the cycle that the "good ending" occurs that things are different. If you manage to kill billy, Finn and Sal before Albert dies, then you break the cycle and all the trapped souls in that dimension are free. The reason why you have to kill the other 3 mobsters except Albert is because the other 3 deliberately betrayed the weasel because they didn't believe icarus was a good escape plan.
@@mxn4719 but it would change the exact time that he created the time remnants. Even if one survives he’s not going to go through the same experiences that led him to become Savitar
The thing you're missing with just killing iris, it won't matter! Because originally Barry never learns who savitar was! Upon finding out his identity Barry will never make the time remnants that inevitably become savitar! He didn't WANT to kill iris! He just had to! Upon failing there was zero point in killing her!
No, Iris had to die at that moment, or it doesn't set off Savitar's origin. If Barry finding out Savitar's identity stopped him from being born, then why try to kill Iris at all? It's only after Iris lives that Savitar starts focusing on his plan B.
Hi ASR. You should've known they wasn't going to kill Iris, specially since they had shown us her death over 5 months before(when it was live). But, we loose HR. They manage to cure Caitlin for now. Barry goes into the Speedforce. I don't think Black Flash(this took place after the Legends Finale btw) is gone for good.
Savitar overall works as the villain of Season 3, but of course there are some criticisms about him: he is the third speedster in a row to be a main villain, he has some similarities to Zoom, and his big reveal was dragged out for too long near the season finale; practically wasting Grant Gustin's potential screentime as the villain of his own show.
While I think that they revealed Savitar a bit late, I like how it's the only villian where we find out who they are at the same time as Barry, instead of the whole wait between us finding out and the character's finding out. Also, maybe it's just me, but I prefer the speedster villains since they're the only villains that actually make sense for the Flash to struggle with long term since everyone else should be so slow that Barry could just grab them and put them in the pipeline before they even realize it.
I think similarly about the latter half of the arc being messily written and things not explained well, to me as far as Savitar and such, along with it taking it longer to reveal. I would've preferred if the reveal happened in Into The Speedforce and Barry finds out there, him dealing with that for almost a couple episodes before telling them.
Tbh I was a bit disappointed when it turned out that Savitar tricked them. I think it whould have been interesting to see how he changes together with team Flash and Iris. Lol
This season definitely was a huge step down imo from the previous 2,not only did they rush/ruin one of the flash best storys(flash point paradox),but they completely changed the tone of the series from like uplifting(not always as it has some serious moments aswell),to almost like arrow's tone, which doesn't fit the flash and what they established as the tone alrdy at all,not mention dragging savitar identity reveal, how they did wally,hr,and everyone, barry's whole emo future self,(this isn't scratching the surface of what is wrong with this season but if i were to write everything down it'd take me days lol). Just like what happened to arrow during s3,4 and how the quality went down. Oh and forgot to mention one of the dumbest lines of this series and arrow-verse as a whole "the one thing black flash cant escape/fight is cold"-savitar. Apparently Caitlyn is a speedster as well to be able to hit blackflash with her frost attack. Oh well
This isn't the first time a speedster was shown to be unable to outrun a cold blast. It was in season 1. I think, to me, the tone was different from Arrow. It had more lightness than that, to me. I don't think Wally, HR and, everyone, were particularly badly written. They used the flashpoint to, to me, present more of a character based story for Barry.
Dagenspear as far as speedster not out running cold blast that was when snart killed somenone with his cold gun and barry couldnt save him,but at the time barry wasnt as fast as he is now,but this one is black flash that was shown multiple times that he can catch up to other speedster that were shown to outrun barry,so Caitlyn to hit him in the right moment wasnt possible i guess,as for the tone it was a dark tone kinda like arrow, especially with the whole killing iris etc...,they didnt necessarily write the characters bad,but they sure didnt use them very good especially for wally and the fact that they killed hr(even tho it was predictable due to the technology he showed at the beginning),as for the flash point,to me it feels that they used it more as an excuse for everything that doesnt make sense, this happened,oh just blame it on flashpoint, like they had so many chances/potential to make flashpoint a great opening and continue for couple eps,to actually make the consequences from it believable, but hey it is what it is
@@nickh591 i will just keep it simple. I got a massive headache after this season lol. if fans liked it good for them, but for me, the second half of s3 was very messy. since i love maths, i will just say look at imdb ratings for episode 22 and 23. 9.1/10 for 22 and 7.7/10 for 23.
