MJ had fast twitch muscles like crazy. Way quicker than Kobe.

I've been noticing more the realization and surprise from you younger generations, of MJ's quickness and speed from his early years. It's making me realize that a lot of people who weren't around then only focus on his championship years, primarily the 2nd 3-peat seasons. Drawing comparisons with Kobe because of their similar games. But realize that Kobe emulated more MJ's later game than his early seasons before he won titles. That's why I always encourage kids to analyze his years before titles, and remember that people were already calling him the best player before he even won in the Finals.

people always focus on his vertical jump but the main part of his success was speed and explosiveness...not only could he jump high, he could GET there sooo fast the defender usually couldn't react in time to be effective at all..by the time they realized he was going to jump he was already dunking it...watch his blocks, he could jump after them and still beat them to the height of their own jump

Bro I was thinking the same who contesting or blocking that jumper too much elevation 😂

Yes. This is the reason why teams started to guard him with smaller defensive players like Dumars and later Starks
and Payton. It's because the smaller players tended to be quicker on their feet and could do a better job of trying
to stay in front of Jordan. Jordan would just blow past players who were the same height or taller than he was.

I saw mj in person he was so fast and so qwick i couldn't believe my eyes he was jumping 40 inches on his jump shot alone and bunny hoppn off 2 feet 10FT from the rim just for a dunk I've never seen anything like that before or after.🐐🐐23

That was the real Air Jordan yous see on the Nike shoes . Black Jesus, Black cat all that. Best Fast twitch muscles fibers I have ever seen in a basketball player ever before. Kobe bryant was never close to MJ from 84 to 93. But emulated his game after MJ on 95 to 2003 👌🏾!

4:17 is just too dang smooth. No wasted movement.Just a simple lil sidestep that made all the defenders look like they were moving in slow motion.Jordan just knew how to get from point A to point B faster than anyone.Ever.He was fast, quick, twitchy, explosive, crazy balanced, ambidextrous, basketball speed, hangtime, all of the above in one package. And the guys who came close couldnt do it as efficient. The man was just a one of one.

6:00 ypu realized why a bunch of us old heads or MJ fans get frustrated with the game today. Just get to your spot and shoot or pass and quit wasting the shot clock. It was also when the defense could touch you and not get called a foul so he had to get to his spot quick.

It's one thing to be fast but it's a whole other thing to be quick. He was both. He had the fasting twitching muscle fibers I have ever seen on an athlete that plays team sports. The was jaguar-like. And unless you witnessed him in person, you'll just never know how quick and explosive he was. Impossible to defend.

The greatness that Jordan was, he could never carry a team to a championship, unless Scottie Pippen was on it.

I think 🏀 is a team sport & unlike today the Eastern conference was actually much tougher then especially with the Celtics & Pistons dominating the league along with the Lakers.
