- This handsome clump of Aspidistra elatior 'Goldfeather' is hiding a dark secret - it had an illicit affair resulting in a herd of illegitimate seedlings. Cast iron plant flowers are produced at ground level and so are the hard, round, green colored seedpods, which can be difficult to spot. On this clump we discovered both flower buds and seedpods by feeling around the foliage base. The seedlings rarely come true but can be transplanted to the other parts of the garden, given away, or discarded. 'Goldfeather' is a truly outstanding cultivar for a shade garden and the foliage looks great in cut flower arrangements! Zones: 7b to 10b, Light Shade to Shade. #aspidistra #variegatedplants #shadeplants #deerresistant #perennials
