The correct verse is: (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Alistair is rambling on about handling the word of God when he's not doing what the verse calls for which is dividing.
Be careful here. The Greek says- σπούδασον σεαυτὸν δόκιμον παραστῆσαι τῷ Θεῷ, ἐργάτην ἀνεπαίσχυντον, ὀρθοτομοῦντα τὸν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας. “Hasten yourself, approved to present to God a workman not ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth” By your definition, YOU are ALSO corrupting the word of God.
