When people say, "I can sell that for more on eBay", I agree with them. Then I share that it has taken me a year to get consistent sales and some items I listed last year have not sold yet. If they can and want to sell the item online themselves, have the space, time and energy, and can wait up to a year for it to sell, "Go for it!" Often, they just take my $.

You got some really great finds and the prices can't be beat this time!
I find it fascinating and hilarious when thrift store owners or employees look down on resellers. What do they think they are doing?? It's just Too Funny!

You can actually find some pretty good jerseys in thrift stores. My daughter found a Dallas Stars practice jacket that only the team members and staff were given.
Of course, I’m no Red Wings fan (GO STARS!) but I’m sure there’s some fan out there who remembers back in the day when they could wear it with pride (GO STARS!). All said in good fun. My old boss was a RW fan and we used to jab back and forth a lot. It’s for him that I say maybe that smell wasn’t the bedding (GO STARS!).
    😂😂😂😂

I don’t find too many but it may be because I’m just not zoned in on looking for them. And to be honest, I had no idea how much some of them went for. I’m also not a sports fan of any kind but with the price these jerseys are going for…I’m definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for more! ❤️❤️❤️

You are so right Sherri....shoes are icky so mostly I only get them if they have tags and if you are doing this your time is better spent sourcing higher yields. I heard professional antique collectors say their rule is 10 percent of retail is their desired cost given the time sitting and their time and other costs. Also have you looked at jewelry? Just a thought as it doesn't take much room and some names are super expensive. I'm trying to learn about what I have and what to look for in all things like pottery, china, art glass and jewelry marks. I love the breakfast tray and the picture. And the antique settees were beautiful. Love your style!

It’s called capitalism! Another viewer commented with my thoughts - do the thrift stores have the time, energy, space, etc. to research, post, ship and worry about payment? I don’t think so or they’d be doing it. I wish I had the patience to spend the time you do looking through items and doing all the comp research. That painting is gorgeous!!!

The scene in those pictures reminds me of the ones they used to decorate mobile homes with in the late 1960s. Nice score on the Salad master cookware!

You found some great things and great prices Sherri! My local thrift store had a 50% off sale yesterday and I had a blast finding a few things for myself. My favourite score was an 11” pair of brass candlesticks for $3. I love them and couldn’t believe the great price.

I would love to know how to get started but when I look at EBay I will see twenty or thirty things if the same item. I picked up four beautiful Artek mid century still life tv trays..they sell well. I paid five dollars..someone is wanting 650..four sell for around two hundred or more. I have too much stuff. You do well and love to watch you. ❤

Great finds and great prices. I sold a similar bed/serving tray years ago. It was my first high profit sale - I think you'll do well with it. As for the cabinet with the brass hardware, I was thinking it would look great and work great in an office.

GG, I wanted one of them years ago for myself but wasn’t willing to pay $100 and now that I found one…I’m reading to sell it to make some money! 😂
Oh, you’re so right about the cabinet. It would look good in an office…maybe even my office. Don’t put ideas on my head, GG. 😂

Don't let texture fool you on a painting. prints a lot of times have a texture added to them.
So many people make this mistake.
    Just be careful. 😉
Too bad that painting was too small.
    It is gorgeous.

    • @SimplyThriftingWithSherri
      @SimplyThriftingWithSherri  ปีที่แล้ว +2

So true, Chereese. I always like to see the back of the “painting” if at all possible to see if I can see paint, or anything written on it. The hobbyist pieces usually have a certain “unfinished” look about them than ones you buy retail.
The large one I purchased has some writing on the back of it that I can’t make out and up close you can tell it’s not a printed canvas with textured added.
But your advice is very true for those who aren’t familiar with those kinds of artwork.
      Thank you!
      ❤️❤️❤️

@@Chereese0808 I want thank you for piquing my curiosity about the large painting because after doing some research this morning…I am BLOWN away with what I found out. I didn’t “google” the painting when I found it because I wasn’t going to sell it and I couldn’t make out what it said on the back, but WOW did I find out something wonderful! I’m going to share it in next weeks video. Thank you, girl! ❤️❤️❤️
