Confronting the factual extremes of human attributes is not easy. At one extreme of the spectrum you discover the very worst of human actions and on the other, actions we consider saintly. Ignoring the extremes, to seek the middle ground, can be very reassuring.
When I have gone into the shadow it was some of the most painful and frightening work I have ever done due to my repressed feelings that I was unloveable, always wrong and a fear of abandonment that was used by my narcissistic/alcoholic family because I wouldn't sell my soul to them. It was also the most transforming work I have ever done. It was all just a blur of horrific feelings and I thought I might be going insane because there was no direction. I probably went back to when I was an infant and worked my way up in age.
There is an entirely different approach that does not involve fixing the ego. You can dissolve the ego and be free of its issues all together. There does not seem to be any other way to be free of the ego's fear based thought system. Even a well tamed ego is still a fear based thought system and ties you to this world. Many masters speak of removing yourself from the wheel of karma, that the birth and death cycle are part of the ego and once you are without it you are free from this world and its difficulties. No more forgetting and starting over, again and again, it is time to end it, the ego is not who we are and it can be removed.

ugh.. i dont know, i am definetely struggling with isolation and humility of the spiritual ego. i keep revising things and outgrowing things, so i find it hard to not isolate, im already kooky to my old world.. i can see the divine being in others most of the time, and i kinda dont know how to relate to another who is obviously divine, but completely lost in the delusion. as the buddha said, you are lucky to find one other to share the path with.

What if you truly don't like being near people. Not that you hate people just that you want to and feel more comfortable in solitude with nature and the stars surrounding you. I do get out from time to time however limit interaction as much as possible.
In the same boat it’s like I’m literally allergic. I thought it’d be temporary but not short and now it seems a permanent condition. After exposure to people and being subjected to their psyche, I inevitably time after time after time present with physical, mental and emotional (allergic) reactions. To put it bluntly, I slowly start becoming mentally ill until I can/have to go into another hard isolation where I will not allow 1 single soul near me. It’s so extreme that I know it’s not just regular anti-social behavior. I was shy as a kid and thought I was just growing into my introversion but no. This is genuinely something like an allergy. I was wondering if you might have similar intense, uncontrollable reactions? Sometimes I think maybe it’s a dark night thing and I’ll come out of it. I haven’t spoken w anyone about a people allergy for obvious reasons 😂
@kvthedrvl At first it was like this. Overtime I have become better at shielding and protecting myself in social situations. For instance I recently attended a car show which I haven't in a while to support my son. It does deplete my energy though and it takes me a few days to recover. Mediation, grounding, and Nature works best for me. I limit my interactions with people as much as I can. I used to want to open a volunteer automotive shop however I'm unsure if I can do it anymore. That kinda thing used to feel my cup so to speak. Now that the illusion is gone, I can see through people, feel thier intentions. I know when people are lying or have ill intentions. I suppose it is a gift however lately it feels more like a curse. The Dark night of the soul is in every spiritual religion just spoken differently, a different way of interpretation of it. If you feel like you are stuck maybe you have more shadow work to do? I'm unsure if I'm through what ever I'm going through. However, I do know one ultimate truth that I teach my children, everyone that has ever worked with me, and something that I will continue to do until time ceases to exist. When you fall, you get back up and you try again. No matter how many times, you get back up and you keep pushing forward. Always.
Do your job and then let go. Do what you feel is right. Physical separation is not spiritual separation. your interactions are more meaningful than you may realize.

He certainly followed his instincts which led to great insights but also to some incredible errors. We are still in our infancy in understanding the mind. As a believer in science i must reject what can not be in some way objectively measured.

ugh.. i dont know, i am definetely struggling with isolation and humility of the spiritual ego. i keep revising things and outgrowing things, so i find it hard to not isolate, im already kooky to my old world.. i can see the divine being in others most of the time, and i kinda dont know how to relate to another who is obviously divine, but completely lost in the delusion. as the buddha said, you are lucky to find one other to share the path with.

Once awakened, it’s all a matter of balance, that’s the ‘integration’ Jung is talking about, that being said, there’s a distinct difference between shadow, dark, and outright evil…shadow is ego, dark is the void of creation, evil is unchecked voracious destruction beyond corruption…imo, the ongoing goal is to choose to awaken, integrate, and balance oneself, as well as with the collective consciousness, acknowledging that there is evil, then choosing to stand against it, and recognizing / accepting that it’s cyclical, ever evolving…that being said, one does not have to co-exist with evil, there is a way to separate from it, that is the journey of each soul, that is what makes the Masters, the Masters, they have achieved that separation …

Pretty complex concept when looking at trying to task it all. I suppose a lot of it occurs naturally.
What if you truly don't like being near people. Not that you hate people just that you want to and feel more comfortable in solitude with nature and the stars surrounding you. I do get out from time to time however limit interaction as much as possible.
In the same boat it’s like I’m literally allergic. I thought it’d be temporary but not short and now it seems a permanent condition. After exposure to people and being subjected to their psyche, I inevitably time after time after time present with physical, mental and emotional (allergic) reactions. To put it bluntly, I slowly start becoming mentally ill until I can/have to go into another hard isolation where I will not allow 1 single soul near me. It’s so extreme that I know it’s not just regular anti-social behavior. I was shy as a kid and thought I was just growing into my introversion but no. This is genuinely something like an allergy. I was wondering if you might have similar intense, uncontrollable reactions? Sometimes I think maybe it’s a dark night thing and I’ll come out of it. I haven’t spoken w anyone about a people allergy for obvious reasons 😂
@kvthedrvl At first it was like this. Overtime I have become better at shielding and protecting myself in social situations. For instance I recently attended a car show which I haven't in a while to support my son. It does deplete my energy though and it takes me a few days to recover. Mediation, grounding, and Nature works best for me. I limit my interactions with people as much as I can. I used to want to open a volunteer automotive shop however I'm unsure if I can do it anymore. That kinda thing used to feel my cup so to speak. Now that the illusion is gone, I can see through people, feel thier intentions. I know when people are lying or have ill intentions. I suppose it is a gift however lately it feels more like a curse. The Dark night of the soul is in every spiritual religion just spoken differently, a different way of interpretation of it. If you feel like you are stuck maybe you have more shadow work to do? I'm unsure if I'm through what ever I'm going through. However, I do know one ultimate truth that I teach my children, everyone that has ever worked with me, and something that I will continue to do until time ceases to exist. When you fall, you get back up and you try again. No matter how many times, you get back up and you keep pushing forward. Always.
Do your job and then let go. Do what you feel is right. Physical separation is not spiritual separation. your interactions are more meaningful than you may realize.
If You are social and when socializing you feel safe/positive. You're probably living best than the rest of us city dwellers packed like sardines not able to get along

Our identity with the interupted speaker's world can thus be reinforced unless this emotional nuance is consciously elucidated and correctly resolved.
BUT, it takes conscious discipline to stop and do that and WE JUST GOT INTERUPTED AND DONT WANT TO LOSE TRACK OF THE VIDEO....
This kind of (synchronous or manufactured) emotional shift back to the preferred previous topic or focus can fleetingly feel like "coming back home!" Subsequently the speaker and their message may become imbued with a glow of intuitive ageless sagacity we might assign our elders. We settle back into their groove with a glow of pleasure, which we might mistake or remember as consilience.
More subtle are the uses of harmonic tones and chords to induce background (shadow) emotional tensions and releases which, because we aren't focusing awareness to the source, become swept along in the emotional reaction and assessment of the topical issues presented verbally.
Then, there's ALL the pictures....
If only this guy could utilize manipulations of the sense of touch (make your phone vibrate!?) smell, and spatial equilibrium, there could be a full manufactured/manipulated reality to compete with your experienced reality. And with all your senses trained on the cellphone, you would likely treat those as distractions and more or less fiercely repress their salience, reflexively boosting the perceived salience of the video presentation.
