I've been driving 22 years and always found it easier to back into the dock with the tandems back because it's a tighter turn but it also depends on what kind of dock and where you're at
@@CandyMoniaI just enjoy your vibe no matter how your day goes. We all want to talk to people because we're a lot of days lonely with no one to talk to in person every now and then.
When you first hook up to your trailers… push in your trailer air supply. Reefers have air suspension so it takes time for them to air up… usually around when you hear the governor goes off, that should give you enough air to slide the tandems
Hey Candy! I’m a new driver and a new sub. ♥️💛♥️ Our trailers are like that too…gotta wait a few for air pressure to build. I agree with another subs recommendation about a tandem stopper! I got mine from Amazon and it works like a charm 😊 I tried backing with the tandems all the way back last night…no bueno 😂
To prevent that drive a little bit to build up the air in the trailer, and you then can slide it and also get you a tandem Stopper to stop the trailer at the hole you want
Wd or all the greases work great.i personally always used a windex bottle filled with baby oil spray both sides of the rail in and out you can just imagine how nice it would slide.i never had a problem.stay safe driver
So I watched your other video when you switched from the cass to your current t680 I’m the exact same as you I am currently with a company driving a cass and I want to go to marten and drive the Pete 579 I could request to get one right and they would let me pick which one I want?
I went from Sprint to Verizon because I got tired of not getting service in some of those state where the service isn’t great and by the way hope you doing well out there on the road.
Make sure you build your air pressure up to over a 100 psi with red valve pushed in air up trailer all the way then pull red valve out get out and pull valve on trailer and sometimes you may have to pull forward or back up a little and you should hear the click of pins realeaseing then slide your tandems
Wearing ear plugs while driving a semi can help you prevent or lessen noise and high wind stress on ear and brain. If at least on the left ear- it what I do!
Ain’t no life in trucking you sacrifice so much I have been doing this for 24 years wait until family members pass away and it takes forever to get you home
Anything between 35-45k put your tandem pin in the 7th or 8th hole and your weight will be on point I have the same truck you have and the truck weights close 31, 180 pounds with fuel gushed on half and on full it still will weigh out to putting tandem pin in hole 7 or 8 I typically keep mine in the 7th hole 95% of the time the other 5% I use the 8th when I over shoot 7 and say fuck moving it . Do this and buy a scale ticket and after that you won’t buy another one unless a shipper don’t put the weight on the ticket which has happened to me before One thing I don’t do is waste time or money buying scale tickets When sliding tandem go in reverse move the trailer backwards before you go forward You said your truck slow… I’m guessing it’s governed at 62…just about all company driver trucks are..my truck governed at 72 mph
Disagree with that. It's been some loads I've had you slide it to the first hole. Basically what I'm saying is. It depends on where the customer put the most heaviest part of the load on the trailer. Regardless you should want them to put the heaviest part of the load in the middle. But it all depends on the freight.
@@jjerrodaustin I have carried everything you can think of and this is the method I have used for years I leaned from an old man trucker in 2018 I haven’t bought a scale ticket since 2018 when I was at swift and had to for certain loads I very rarely get pulled into weight stations unless I’m in Texas or Georgia… for the most part I get the green light just about all the time and when I do get pulled into weight stations I don’t get pulled over to the side to get weighed unless it only that one lane everybody has to pass through
@@jjerrodaustin I have never had to get out my truck and fix my tandems to get my truck weighed out like it should be at a weight station only time I have to have my time wasted being weighed is at shippers that make you do it

What are your safety tips while out on the road?
Do not slide them all the way Back go up two or more holes forward 💪
