Bts were kind of like the underdogs of the industry for a long time. worked extremely hard to their way to the top especially not being apart from the big 3 most successful companies in Korea which are: SM, YG and JYP. I think that people are connected to them more than just music itself and of course, their talent.. it has to do a lot with their personality and journey as a group. Started from the bottom and now they’re just conquering the world.

sometimes it's quality over quantity but with them i feel like they have both. They're so hard working, it's insane how many b-sides they have and it's never a miss to me. I also love how they experiment with all kinds of genres, they are still musically growing and improving and i admire them for that

Outside of being incredibly talented, they are also well know from a lyrical standpoint as you get deeper into their dischoreography. They speak about topics outside the norm of what kpop was known for. They talk about social, youth, political, mental issues etc. They overcame a lot of adversity.

'I'm the King', Suga/AgustD finally has everything, he's at the top, all the rappers who talked trash about him are talentless hacks. But then it turns on him, he's alone and a tyrant, all the things he wanted, all the bragging, mean nothing - that's Daechwita (don't worry, no spoilers). AgustD is DT (for the town he's from and his original rap group) + SUGA spelled backwards. Suga is shooting guard, his position when he played basketball.

BTS is more than just kpop. U just have to dive into them to learn more about why a lot of people soon as u ask about kpop they most likely say BTS. It’s their story, meaning of their music, love for their fans, record breaking artists, hardworking men, history making, charitable donations and well honestly its a lot of things and they’ve reach heights that a lot of other kpop artists haven’t reached as yet. Their actually nominated for a Grammy for their hit song dynamite this year. Honestly I’m so proud of them and their journey and our fans army’s are so proud of what we achieved together. It’s a lot more than just music it’s spreading awareness and teaching everyone to love yourself. Hopefully u guys understand them and don’t really have any bad feelings towards them for what other fans are saying bcuz the immature fans love to fight here so it gets crazy with the fandoms so just look pass that. Thank u guys for ur reactions💜

    • @victoriamassengale77
      @victoriamassengale77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Well said, I hope they don’t pay attention to the immature fans(I don’t claim people who spread hate as ARMYs) people who don’t know how it was in the beginning sometimes just don’t understand that they got so much hate for all the success they started getting and we as fans got just as much for just being their fans(there where some really dark days for them and us) and it all came from other fandoms so some people’s first reaction is to try to shut all them out. I hope that the HF guys just keep doing their thing and reacting to whoever they want including BTS. Not everyone who reacts to them wants to become an ARMY and that’s ok bc you can still enjoy their artistry without being an ARMY(you won’t feel it or connect to it the way we do) but still seeing people hear and appreciate their artistry is a good thing.

BTS is on another level. They are master story tellers. They have what is called "Bangtan (BTS) Universe" where their music videos are intertwined with each other to tell an alternate universe story. The songs on their albums are not just a bunch of "cool songs" thrown together but songs that fit story arcs from one album to another. They've produced their own beats and write a majority of the lyrics. They came from a very poor entertainment company/label that did not have money nor privilege in the KPOP industry. Bless that small entertainment company that they've made BTS shareholders since BigHit became public. You currently have no idea what BTS has done for promoting Korean culture and their contribution to the Korean economy. BTS now holds the record for most albums sold in the history of Korea. They are pretty much household names globally now. The way that customer and your little nephew knew them came from their own blood, sweat and tears.

This reaction was super good and I’m glad that y’all enjoyed it. Bts has such a wide range of music and mostly if not all their songs are bangers. If you couldn’t tell by now lol they are a 7 member group and debuted in 2013 with the song No more dream (I highly recommend watching the live performance of that song) and they’ve became one of the most successful music acts in the world breaking tons of records. Their the first Korean act since the Beatles to earn 3 number 1 albums in less than a year and also are the first Korean act to chart number 1 on billboard hot 100 multiple times now and are also nominated for a Grammy. It’s safe to say that they are the biggest boy band in the world lol. Also their success didn’t happen overnight it took hours of hard work and dedication to get to where they are now. They would even have dance practices for 12-16 hours a day. They also write and produce all their music themselves and their lyrics are super deep. RM Is the leader and rapper of the group. He was an under ground rapper before he was in bts and also is fluent in English and Japanese. Not to mention he has an IQ of 148 so that man is smart as hell lol. Jin is the oldest and is one of the vocalist. He wanted to become an actor before bts but he ended up singing instead. Suga is also one of the rappers and was in under ground rap. He’s one of the fastest Kpop rappers out there and he’s honestly so talented. Jhope is also a rapper and was in a dance group called neuron and was at national level for dancing. Jimin is a vocalist and is probably the most talented vocalist ever. His voice is like no other. He was in contemporary dance and was top in his class. V is also a vocalist and his voice is super deep and soulful. He gives off this rich R&B vibe and it’s so beautiful. Jungkook is the youngest and is also a vocalist. He’s literally good at everything lol and his voice is so beautiful. Some songs that I would recommend are Tomorrow, Outro: Tear, interlude: shadow, black swan, blood sweat & tears, and Fake love. Sorry for the long ass paragraph but I hope this helped.

But i think people gonna realize this once they dig deeper with BTS music discography n watch some of their interviews. Thank you so much for reacting to “Mic Drop“. It was one of the first MVs that I watch that really got me to fall in love with BTS. 💜
8:59 - As for whether ARMY are “anti-other K-pop bands”, I’m not sure I would agree with that. I can only speak from my experience with ARMY and I can say that they are some of the most diverse group of fans I’ve ever met. There may be fans in there that are casual fans, hard-core fans, new fans, veteran fans, and some that may even be toxic fans. One thing is certainly true for almost all of the BTS ARMY though and that is that they are certainly some of the most *protective* people of their band but I feel that kinda comes with the territory. I feel like rivalries among fans are rather prevalent in the K-pop fandom. Back during the second generation phase of K Pop, there were a lot of toxic fans that took that rivalry too far and made being into K-pop really stressful which lead me to leaving the fandom for a really long time.
As for whether ARMY specifically have “an affinity to dislike” other K-pop bands, I think this might be a slight misunderstanding. To be honest, I think it might just be a coping mechanism, kind of like a defensive response. You see, during the early days of the group’s career, both the band and their fans received A LOT of backlash, criticism, and mockery for supporting BTS. Therefore, there was this protective bond that grew between BTS and their fandom, and was fostered during the height of the band's struggles with defamation, false allegations of plagiarism and chart manipulation, and death threats. For the longest time, ARMY was all BTS had in their corner. They were (and still are) their source of inspiration and their hope during their darkest hours and times of seemingly insurmountable odds. It’s the reason why ARMY is so protective of BTS and vice versa, especially when outsiders are prone to calling their fans “crazy” or “fanatics”. So, no, in general I don’t believe ARMY has a “dislike for all other K-pop bands”, they are just very protective of BTS is all. I, for one, consider myself a huge BTS fan and I still support and love other K-pop groups. I listen to MAMAMOO, EXO, Got7, TWICE, and so many other bands on a daily basis but that doesn’t diminish my love and passion for BTS at all.
Now, there may be a handful of toxic fans in the fandom that would like for others to believe that their bands is the greatest and better than all others but that is a very small percentage and does not represent the fandom on the whole. Plus, there are toxic fans in every fandom (great and small). Some fans in the fandom might not be a fan of other groups or support other groups and might just listen to BTS but that isn't every ARMY, just a fraction of the fandom. I’m sorry that those fans gave you that impression of the entire fandom. The ARMY that I have interacted with in the past have always been super supportive, very inclusive, and very welcoming. I hope those fans find your videos in the future and hopefully represent that side of the fandom as well.

i love BTS, they were the first kpop group i started listening to in 2017. but i am a multi fan and listen to other kpop artists as well. there are many super passionate armys (bts fandom name) that are all just about bts. a huge part of bts' message is respecting others and their differences and being a kind person. that's why me as an army, would never put down other groups. there is plenty of good kpop for everyone, and at the end of the day, ALL artists are hard working and deserve to shine!!

Even though it opens up with DJ Steve Aoki‬, the song itself is written by BTS Leader “RM” (comes out of ambulance) which was said to be inspired by Obama speeches when he dropped the MIC. After Mr. Aoki listened to their song and loved it so much that Steve collabed with BTS to make a remix of their original song “Mic Drop” which is in korean; he had the honor of being featured in their music video which he gets credit for the remix on top of being in the MV, there’s also another remix version with ‪Desiigner‬ voice played in the background in the Intro of the video. *This song is one of many DISS tracks BTS has done directed at haters, ANTIs and anyone who’s against their well earned success* FUN FACTS: Almost everything used is REAL except maybe the floating mics and floating fire after literally blowing up a car. #BTS #MicDrop
Just to let you know they’re not swearing, it’s known as wordplay more or less and also they’re not saying the american “N” word either it only sounds like it, the “naega” word in their language means “I” or “you” in Korean. Everyone who doesn’t understand abit about the language & meanings have that reaction especially when they hear the “naega” word; which is very commonly used allot in the asian culture & music. It’s not the same as the american “N” word, which allot of westerners got too comfortable hearing or saying and assumes automatically when they hear it from a foreigner that’s what they mean but it has nothing to do with african americans at all. *In some foreign languages, many common american words will sound similar but have different meanings*

You have just scratched the surface of BTS, lol. Their talent, creativity, and hard work are unmatched. And ARMY is protective and very passionate about BTS because of all the struggles they have gone through and because of how down to earth and real they are to this day. They also love ARMY and thank us for everything they have and have accomplished. Everything they do is for ARMY. Other KPop groups do not interact the same way with their fans. The best way for you to really understand is to watch the videos about their journey and how there is so much more to them than just a boy band. You will be amazed by how much work they do. I would suggest "This Is BTS: Introduction to BTS pt1", "Who Is BTS: The Seven Members Of Bangtan", and "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: Story Of BTS". Also, ARMY will always help with any questions or information. Thank you for your reactions, I have really enjoyed them. I hope you continue with BTS and even come down the rabbit hole that is BTS 💜💜💜

    Hi, ARMY here.
BTS were the underdogs, they didn't aim for that thou. Their company was very little, newcomer. There was an existing hierarchy in Kpop industry. Manipulations by the 3 other large entertainment group was rampant. TV shows, award shows etc.
What I'm saying, our love for BTS stems from a point of 'protective' thinking, knowing their huge talent, years of training, but denied by the others. BTS invited us in with daily/weekly YT vlogs. Their personalities and charisma was shining from day one.
When BigHit was broke, K-ARMY send food, groceries, blankets, pots etc. to BTS. We love BTS.....and BTS loves us back more.
The worldwide success was teamwork between BTS and ARMY. Statistics show, today BTS is charting better than the all the other Kpop teams combined. As fan we kinda place them outside KPOP now, like BTSPop, they really are their own genre.
I personally like other KPop teams and K-RnB and KHipHop. True ARMY will not hate on other teams because BTS won't. You have to be weary of hate comments, they may not be ARMY.

The scene with the car explosion, there are burning bodies falling from the sky too.
    Straight crazy.
By the way, not all BTS fans (ARMY) dislike and discourage watching other groups. A lot of us are “multifandom”, meaning we like other groups and artists in kpop too. You guys do you. Don’t mind the hate and pressure. BTS is great, but that doesn’t mean you can’t like other groups and their music just as much or not more. All personal taste.

BTS are the ultimate underdog story. They rose from nothing to the top and had no on their side. Just passion and talent. ADDITIONALLY, ARMY is not anti-other groups. Don't let the loud voices of those few let you think that. I've been listening to kpop for 14 years and all of my friends and family that love BTS supports many other artists.

None of their songs sound the same. They have lots of American artist inspiration. R&b, jazz, rap, soul. They are unique and had to work very hard to get to the top. They interact a lot with fans and have an amazing relationship with Army. They are humble and never forget where they came from nor who helped get them to the top. Army is passionate and very organized. There isn't anything we can't do for these 7 wonderful humans.

I’m sure there are other groups and artists with whichever genre that are also talented but I just didn’t connect with them in the way that I did with BTS and their music. And BTS has always had artistic freedom which is not typical in K-pop groups. They also had a say in who was going to be in the group and the group’s direction, that’s not typical. Because they write lyrics, compose, and produce both on their own or with the in-house production team, BTS has always shared their story and criticisms of social injustices. They’ve never hesitated to speak out against authority, which isn’t normal in k-pop at all! Instead of singing “love songs” they write songs to/for their fans (named ARMY -it’s an acronym), or for themselves, or diss tracks towards haters, or trying to change society. Typically K-pop is just about getting the next single; BTS continues the story they’re telling. Have fun!
Also, it’s not that BTS fans (ARMY) don’t like other groups, it’s just they are so busy with BTS that they don’t have time/inclination for others. There are many talented groups, BTS is different; they’re more.

They classify themselves as pop but they actually use more elements of Hiphop and Rap since their debut and recently more R&B. R&B was created by black American in the 1940s and its a break off from jazz and blues and gospel (which included slave hymn) its meant to express what was going on with African Americans and the struggle with segregation and Jim Crow. And Rap was created in the 1970s and was representative of the many issues blacks had to face. They’re a strong emotional element that explains life in the ghetto, drugs, gangs and the non acceptance into the social norm. Watch On Kinetic Manifesto film and On : Commentary Film Dialogue. I promise you’ll get an overview on why they are biggest band rn.
If you have time and want to actually know why they are different from other groups, you can watch:
    - BTS Contribution to music
    - BTS Crash course 2020
    - This is BTS by Xceleste
It is basically a summary of their music and them as people

Speaking in terms of US only, BTS is the most widely known “k-pop” group to the general public because they’ve been promoted on shows like Good Morning America, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live, etc in addition to attendance at award shows like BBMA and AMA and taken home awards from these shows. Their music is good which typically top music charts, are accessible thru different music platforms, have a great message which fans relate to, and they’ve been on cover of magazines like Time and Variety. Additionally, the fan base is huge which leads to huge social media engagements. All this, I feel, factors into when you think K-pop, you think BTS.

I would suggest PLT - hocus pocus or igoholic for more k hip hop sounds. Also I would suggest DEAN, crush, junny, or jay park for more k r&b! there's way more than just the kpop scene or "idol" music.
BTS is so big rn it's crazy. Mic drop was big when it dropped.

BTS are the biggest K-pop group in the world. I, for one, am a multi-stan but my first love in k-pop is BTS. Their fandom, ARMY, is loyal and protective. BTS is a rags to riches story. If you are truly interested in finding out more about why they have become the phenomenon they are today I have some videos I can recommend.
